So these people who think somehow Lopez isn't undisputed.

If WBC stripped Haney, and awarded Lopez his belt, would you then be satisfied he's now somehow undisputed?

    I really like this point.

And I don't really have an answer!!
Is there precedence for this?? Haney was interim champ so he got elevated from there.

I don't think you can be interim champ of one belt if you hold other belts.

But I guess yes I would be satisfied calling Teo undisputed if that happened hahaha

He grab all the belts except the WBC in which Loma gave up for the right to duck diamond belt. So Lopez is not undisputed! Got to beat Haney to be undisputed.

Traditionally the Undisputed champion, reaches that de-facto Undisputed champion status before acquiring all the belts, to become officially undisputed he he has to corner all the pretenders. In the odd case of Teo, he has the belts, but Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis are still there & his superiority is still disputed until he faces (Tank Davis-Ryan Garcia).

I think top level boxers are good boxers even if they aren't champs.
If name Undisputed must mean to have all major belts in division from more well known orgs: WBO, WBC, IBF, WBA then usually this is long road.
To negotiate fights and these long long talks.
There is also The Ring and maybe looks serious stuff too.

Ryan today doesn't have major tittle belt, looks that this belt had some additional name.
inter? continental? national? internim? now boxing orgs does have also silver, diamond and franchise belts.
If he will fight Linares next, this if former champion, his resume will look better of course.
Still this will not gave him World Tittle because Linares like Campbell will not have this belt in fight vs Garcie.

That is the point we did get that a few times in history, Bernard Hopkins after defeating Felix Trinidad, gave that impression of Full Spectrum Supremacy, which matched the belts. Its supposed to be very difficult

Ryan (and Tank Davis) are very big names at Teo division, as long as they don't duck Teo. His reign is disputable until he faces them, if he beats both of them, then he can be undisputed as long as he keeps facing everybody that dispute his claim. (very difficult to do if you want to fight once or twice in a calendar year).

Of course. Boxing isn't Oly wrestling where we do have only one alone champ ( Oly and World ) for greco- roman and freestyle. Guys, please don't talk that they are amateurs.

Boxing : multiple pro boxing orgs, each from them does have his own rules and ranking tables.
There also promoters, managers etc. Might happen that boxer is willing to fight and still there until they all will negotiate real contract.
Not rare cases are when boxers are out of prime when they fight their marquee fight, not rare cases when one from them is over the hill etc.

theoretically oriented ppl still will tell: there boxer Ryan didn't had World tittle belt today therefore if you now beat him, you aren't world champ.
Some ppl think that undisputed is a guy with at least all these 4 world tittle belts.
    Difficult to tell.

Hahah why? You asked if I would be satisfied with that, and I would be!

I enjoy watching Teo more than Haney, maybe I'm giving too much credence to the Alphabet boys!

Teo if definitely THE guy, and if you asked me to name one lightweight champ it would be him.

Because belts should be won or lost in the ring, not via email.

I agree. But the fact is that's not what happened. And now Haney holds "THE" WBC belt... WBC is ridiculous with their franchise belt.

Teo should be undisputed, and lineally he is... But because of the franchise belt, now there is a question mark over it!

Let's see Teo vs Haney for true undisputed!

    Again, you're mental.

I've never seen anyone support belts being won/lost out of the ring before.

As I've said before on this forum, I do my best to ignore who holds what belt. To me, Lopez is the true champ at 135, having defeated Loma.
