It's probably because people know very little about it, while Canelo's failed drug test showed that he had 5-10x the amount of Clenbuterol in his system when compared to other Clenbuterol users in the past. And Fury eating castrated wild boar is much more believable than Canelo eating tainted beef, when beef was not even in his diet.
It’s egregious how many Fury fans still think Fury only tested positive for cocaine. Can tell they only started watching Fury fight last year.
Canelo did more **** than just roids. Robberies, cherry picking, dehydration shaninigans etc.. Canelo is just a shameless scum type of guy.
Steroid usage should be legalized. It doesn't make you fight better it just improves your performance. Anybody that's athletic knows it does not get easier with time. Im not even an athlete and I want to use something to help me keep the weight off and the muscles tight. Erik Morales was roided up against Garcia and got KO'd bad. Hopkins is on testosterone and got knocked out the ring. It could have been worse without it.
Jesus. Because a lot of us don't believe he did. I don't intend to go over this all yet again, but I simply do not believe that UKAD waited 16 months, allowed a title fight to happen, and did nothing. And indeed, in their "settlement," which involved backdating a ban for coke use and not giving him smother single minute for PEDs use, they admitted that they could not take it to trial because they could not explain as much. I can only repeat again and again and again: I am not naive enough to believe that there is no chance Fury used PEDs, but the evidence presented doesn't prove it. The evidence presented proves that UKAD is a corrupt organization. Let them publish the failed test, explain why nothing else could have caused elevated levels of a substance that occurs naturally in the body, and then explain why they failed to move for 16 months and allowed a title fight to take place when they had evidence against him. If they can do all four...not one, not two, not three...then we are in business. Otherwise, it is a settled matter and as long as he pisses clean from now on, I am good with it.
Canelo didn't failed 1 test, he failed 2 tests. GGG beat him so clearly in the first fight, that he had no choice but to use PEDs to prepare for the 2nd fight.
I read an argument once that rather than ban doping they should set limits on key physiological metrics and allow everyone to dope up until they reach those limits. So if you have naturally high testosterone you get to dope a tiny amount, if you're low you can dope a little more. There would be a set of these limits (not just testosterone but other hormones, lung and heart function, etc). I don't like it because it doesn't just level the playing field, it creates uniformity. As it is some fighters have speed and endurance, others have power, and some just have enormous resolve. It creates interesting matchups and tradeoffs that you don't get if everyone has everything they want. Another variation of "the rules make it interesting."
It's not that hard to work out if you compare and contrast. Fury's case was suspect/corrupt on the end of the testing agency, that's why. You can see they let him fight and only came after him at the point where he was being attacked by the establishment. That's highly suspicious and very different to any other PED situation. And it means there is ''reasonable doubt'' compared to many other cases. Fury's story of being warned to watch nandralone levels but not being convicted has believability given the agency did nothing about it at the time. The fact Fury was able to put up such a fight against UKAD in court is another clue. How many others have been able to do that? The wild boar thing seems harder to believe, but you're dealing with ''travellers'' that were talking about hunting and eating hedgehogs years ago. The Fury team had their whole ''wild man'' training thing going on. If any boxer was going to eat wild boar, it would be Tyson Fury. This is a guy that still takes his bins to the dump. In contrast, the idea Canelo accidentally ate non-gourmet/safe meat is almost impossible to believe considering his lifestyle. Nobody really knows the truth of this situation and I wouldn't be shocked to hear any fighter was PED-ing. But don't pretend the Fury case was the same as Canelo or other fighters.
