Could any other former lightweight champion go 15 rounds with a prime Marvin Hagler?

One tidbit of info,,,Hagler was in the crowd at madison square garden when Duran took apart a young strong fighter named Davey Moore in brutal fashion. Add to that Haglers corner had the strategy of countering Duran when he attacked, Roberto didn't that much and with Duran's defense it threw Hagler off.

Believe me, I know the feeling. Took a break from here for a couple months, came back, and after dealing with Chok and CO, I'm already on my way out the door again

Duran did pop Hagler with some good right hands early. He claims he hurt his hand on Marvin's head about the 5th round. Its plausible but as we know warriors never lose something just happens to keep them from winning.

Benitez was probably at his best at 154..Duran was a natural 135lber...Benitez Leonard and Hearns were all the same size fighters essentially. Duran was a lightweight.

Not to mention they're undoubtedly among the best ever at their weight. Duran was capable of beating the very good, short of great types, even as high as MW. Above WW, though, he isn't beating any great fighters IMO.

Ray Arcel said Duran could still make light weight, but he didn't want to put inthe work to stay in that division.

And not to mention Duran skipped 140 where he could have been even better, another point which seems to get forgotten a lot.
