Is his best win 39 year old Povetkin, or is it 41 year old Klitschko?

How is it even remotely close to Fury's resume?

Yeah, looks like this ; vs beltless versions of Povetkin and Klitshko out of their prime.
Cool legacy confirmed in hometown fights.
Last example: 39. y.o Pulev as opponent. Really cool. Before this supposedly slow Ruiz as replacement. Cool ultra level legacy for sure.
    Historical value and unique proof.:D

    its easy actually.
Fury: shot wlad and untested wilder
Joshua: povetkin, the top contender who went on to easily beat H. Fury and contender whyte and be competitive with hunter, belt holder undefeated parker, contender pulev, schooled ruiz in the rematch, undefeated martin and brazeale.

No active heavyweight besides Povetkin has all that good a resume tbh.

Joshua's is hardly great but that 41 and 39 year old respectively give it enough weight (along with secondary and tertiary victories like Ruiz, Pulev, Whyte and Parker; plus Takam, Breazeale, and Martin) to argue that it could be the best of the current and recent champs' resumes. Fury and Wilder can be argued having better ones for different reasons (the latter more for longevity + # of defenses and the former a mix of Wilder's quantity and Joshua's quality), but all three are within spitting distance, and none is a slam dunk over the others.

Fury's best wins are over old Wlad and Wilder. Outside of that his resume in pretty thin.

Joshua's best wins are old and inactive Wlad, Whyte who is in the top 10, WBO champ Parker who is in the top 10, Unified champ Ruiz who is in the top 10, Povetkin who some would argue is in the top 3 above Wilder due to his win over Whyte, and Pulev who was arguably in the top 10. he also has decent wins over Martin and Breazale.

IMO his resume is deeper. Saying Fury has the better resume would be like saying Michael Spinks has a better heavyweight resume than Mike Tyson because he beat a better Larry Holmes twice

But Fury got to Wlad first so how is he shot by the time the Fury fight happened?

You need to understand, NO ONE really has much of an impressive resume at HW.

he was shot by the time of fury and even more shot when he fought joshua. pre-fury he had already looked terrible against jennings, both joshua and fury score close wins over him , neither dominate.

If Joshuas and Furys wins were close than it doesn't seem like Wlad was shot, Old yes but under the context of what you are saying, it don't sound like he was shot

:deal: You can't have a great resume in an era where there's no such possible thing as a great win.

he was shot, its just that he is much better than both joshua and fury and managed to make the fights competitive despite being a fossil.

Ehm because 41 year old Klitschko and 39 year old Povetkin are both better than Wilder which is Fury’s second best win. Then he also has Ruiz, Parker, Whyte, Pulev and Takam as well. Trumps Fury’s resume 100%

Wilders claim to having the best resume is longevity and AJ has nearly matched it while beating much better competition. Furys resume has very little depth and is only better based on a hypejob in Wilder and the best win of the current era in Klitschko. AJs less impressive win against Klitschko plus all his other good wins against solid contenders and beltholders bumps him ahead of Fury. Povektin has a similar resume to AJ without the win against a game Klitschko or undefeated champion in Parker.

Since the 2000s when the skill level went down a bit and size start becoming a major factor, the age of top 10 HWs has risen. That’s why you really can’t compare eras. Currently the youngest is Parker who is 29 then it’s Andy Ruiz and AJ who are about to be 32. So does having a win against at top 10 opponent make someone overrated? I think not because they are ranked in the top 10 for a reason.

And currently as it sits AJ has the most top 10 wins with 4 while surprisingly Whyte is 2nd with 2 which could be 3 if he beat Povetkin in the rematch. Also have to factor that Pulev was top 10 when AJ defeated him.

So 6 months ago AJ had wins against 5 of the other 9 top 10 HWs while Fury had 1. Does Fury one win hold a lot of weight yes but AJ has had sustained success while Fury has been a flash in the pan of sorts. He still hasn’t made 1 title defense during either of his reigns.
