I’m back I’m very biased and rightly so. So a few of you have met Barry at shows, so you’ve meet Barry the star, I’ve met Barry the businessman and they are too very different beasts.
I’d just like to confirm that MTK didn’t not poach Chantelle from Mcguigans . She left them for various reasons and was convinced that she was finished with boxing. This was announced in a video that Mcguigan objected to and within hours she received threats from his legal team to take it down. The rest will hopefully all come out in a book one day. Frampton wouldn’t **** on Mcguigan guess what I’ll bring the matches

Not defending mcguigan because it does seem like theres been shady dealings going on and theres people on here speaking first hand. I think barry almost knows too much about the business of boxing and how fickle it can be tho. Its a case of lets make money when we can because these guys will leave you at the first sign of a better offer.

Could make a very good argument that their leaving because of it...but guys leave for better offers without any shady dealings.

Its a risky business and a lot of mcguigans to risk to take a chance on imo. They,ve put a lot of work in over the years...a lot of expenses...a lot of people do be paid. A lot of risk. They are overcharging...but its probably the only way the business model works tbh. If you dont have a monopoly or excess amounts of money its hard to keep your head above water working fairly in the game imo.

That's nonsense. You pay the fighter what he or she is owed in the terms of the contract. No excuses.

Probably true mate. Not sure its completely black and white tho. What happens when they end up going out of business. Looks like the mcguigans have got hard times ahead atm...lets say they only took a certain percentage and taylor and frampton left for better offers anyway.

What keeps the business going. They need to basically start again...taking risks...losing money on fighters. Looking around hoping there going to make money to pay themselves for the work they all put in and keep the business going. We all know how it ends...if your a nice guy in this business you wont be in it long. Frampton got paid well as did the mcguigans. The business wouldnt operate long if the mcguigans we,re on 10 or 20 percent.

If they go out of business it means theres less promoters...less trainers less oppertunities for fighters coming through. Theres a reason theres a lack of promoters outside the top 2.

The mcguigans charge you top dollar but they do get a specialist promoter/trainer/manager for your money. Either that or hope frank and eddie take you on....and your just a number really. Look how quickly they moved taylor up...they we,re able to get him earning more quicker than eddie would have. But you will end up paying more for it.

People take it personally but barrys just a businessman...without being that way he,d have been out of business by now.

Its not right and i agree but its the reality of it. Play fair and be out of business or take liberties stay in business and everyone gets paid pretty well.

Thank you , Chantelle has a mandatory for her first defence of her super lightweight title, shame Chantelle never got her mandatory challenge for the WBC title, but that’s another story
Hope you keeping well even though we are massively apart regarding Mcguigan.

Probably true tbh. They are thieving from there fighters by the looks of things. I still say that business model their operating doesnt work unless they are thieving tho.

They,ve gave people oppertunities. The mcguigans boxing knowledge. Excellent training facilities great coaching. Great fight making etc. Dealt wiyh the business side of things. If they can make you a million....surely all them together are worth their 850k bearing in mind the work they put in. You cant give them ten or twenty percent. 200,000 doesnt last long when the million pound fights dont come up that often. Theres a lot of people who have worked hard to pay and bills to pay. Their not a charity.

It is wrong they try to hide it from the fighter. But what else can they do tell the fighter and have no business. The way i see it is 1 million to frampton. 850k to them. For all the work they put in...everyone should be happy enough. Maybe a bit excessive on their end. 1 millions a good purse for frampton tho.

Are you deluded my daughter had an 18 year career BEFORE she joined them. Mcguigan probably charges the highest rate for any manager in the boxing game.
Anyway Barry keep trying to convince yourself you’re not a thief, you took your percentages out of Framptons 1m before you helped yourself to the 850k
Do you hear stories of other management and trainers constantly in court for robbing people
Excellent training facilities they were using an amateur gym in Kent not so long ago the Wandsworth gym is long gone

A thief is a thief in my book.

The worst kind of thieves are the ones that are in trusted positions and come calling wearing a suit, shirt and tie.

Cam man up and tell us exactly what your issue is, give details to back yourself up.

You say he takes the highest % for a manager, but surely that’s capped (25% I think)?

from the outside Mcguigan was a great manager and did great for his fighters pushing them to the top.

What's your opinion on Shane mate? I've always thought he comes across well but would assume he's at least complicit?

My issue is you seem to not see Mcguigan for what he is. Any professional person who abuses the trust invested in them by people would be severely punished by the law. How many boxers have ended their careers saying what a fantastic bloke Mcguigan is.
I will not go into complete details because of future legal proceedings
