Has AJ ever been in a fight he wasn't expected to win?
Fury has against Klitschko and Wilder
    Wilder against Ortiz

    Very easy to describe:
Wlad at 41 beats wilder like a step child and all contenders besides fury.
Povetkin beats also everyone besides fury.
Parker and whyte eat wilder for breakfast.
So yes he has the best resume by far

Do you ever consider winnng away is a big part of the credit Fury gets for his wins?

Because they want to portray AJ in the best light

Ask yourself this, why don't you think the question is "who would win in a fight", it's because the Joshua fans know that Fury would take him to school. Has AJ beaten anyone that could beat Fury? The answer to that is an obvious no.

    i agree with this.
the 'leveller', though, is that fury made a fight with wilder (twice) when joshua didn't.

regardless of how dismissive people want to be about wilder now, and even though AJ has fought more top contenders, a fight involving 2 of the 3 above fighters was always going to be the biggest and most meaningful.

that alone is enough for me to say that fury is the man to beat, though i think AJ loses to wilder still.

    Love this argument.

If AJ only fights old men then who has a younger/better standout win?

Fury - 39 yr old Klit
AJ - 41 yr old Klit
    Wilder - 39 (49) yr old Ortiz
Usyk - 37 yr old Chisora

So what were saying is only AJ fights old men and that means his resume is overrated.

Everyone knows Fury has 2 good wins, 2 probably better than AJ. But AJ resume is far far deeper, hes beaten like 5/6 of the top 10, regardless of age.

If anyone has a deeper resume than AJ @ HW id really like to hear about it.

    Pov & Fury are closest

Ask any boxer who they’d rather have on their resume at heavyweight and they’ll still tell you a hall of famer in Klitschko not a hypejob like Wilder. Fury has one win over AJ and it’s the younger Klitschko he beat. Beating a 41 year old Wlad is still better than beating Wilder. We all know Wlad would have decimated Wilder in the ring at any age as well.

I don't know, it could be based on the fact that AJ has fought a high percentage of fighters in and around the top 10 of the division consistantly whilst Wilder and Fury have fought guys like Spizlka and Wallin and looked poor doing so, or something.

One trick is that people like to pretend all these other contenders, short and/or plodders (Parker, Whyte, Ruiz etc.) would beat Wilder, even though it's never been proven. Povetkin is the only one who would likely have beaten him in his prime, but maybe not at 39+. Since everyone else beats Wilder in this fantasy, it means Fury didn't beat much!

Another is we add up all of AJ's carefully selected name opponents, all of whom were either older than when Fury fought them or literally around forty. They were picked by Matchroom to prop the resume up and the lemmings swallow it.

It's also fun to pretend Wlad somehow improved in the two inactive years between fighting Fury and fighting Joshua, because he almost KO'd Joshua.

Finally, we rewrite Fury's history and forget that Cunningham, Chisora, Johnson and Hammer were all top contenders when Fury fought them in these eliminators, not past it or transformed into journeymen.

AJ has fought more top 10 HW’s than FURY and WILDER put together in less fights

End of move along nothing else to see here

Is somebody seriously claiming that Fury's resume is better than Joshua's?

They both have shot Wlad on their sheets.

Fury has Wilder, who everybody knows is a big stiff idiot and a dosser and Fury himself called it. After Wilder, who's the next best on the TF menu? Chisora? Hammer? Thin stuff when compared to Povetkin, Parker, Whyte, Ruiz, Pulev etc.

Even though I think Fury is better than AJ, his resume is not.

It's more about the second tier opponents that fill out his resume like Joseph Parker and William Whyte. Ruiz was decent too.
I also give him more credit for beating Klitschko because that was a real fight and Klitschko actually tried to fight him like man. I've been watching boxing for 35 years and I still don't know what that was that I saw when Fury and Klitschko got in the ring together.

I would say Wilder and Furys records are pretty even in terms of quality of opposition. Wilder did face more name quality guys, most of whom were over the hill, whereas Fury favors digging up obscure ball room fighters with undefeated records.

I would put AJs opponents a tier above Wilder or Furys

Fury run twice from WK rematch. In any normal world this will hurt his legitimacy and his legacy big time.

I genuinely believe Wilder and Walin beat Whyte. Cunningham and Hammer are under rated wins. Chisora x2. Klitschko when he was still champion.

There's definitely a bias in my opinion. Even with the Klitschko fights, Fury beat him first but because Sky didn't hype it everyone was saying he trained harder for the Wembley fight.

I don't think Dillian Whyte is a top 10 heavyweight. I think Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Usyk, Joyce, Dubois, Povetkin, Ruiz, Hunter, Bakole would all beat him. There's other guys who have a good chance on neutral turf like Parker. Ortiz would have a good chance too.

He is a good fighter and probably deserved a title shot but I think he was over hyped a bit.
