Ward would win easily. He'd run in circles, rush in and land 5 straight nut shots on AJ while the ref is repositioning himself. Easy victory by "bodyshots".

AJ is too tall to butt, too big and strong to hug and too big a draw and a name for Dre to be able to secure home advantage at the negotiating table and his obligatory home ref to allow him to fight to a set of rules he penned with his own hand and his usual 2 or 3 home officials to fill their cards out long before fight night. AJ via legal homicide.

If he does take the fight, this is the safest bet in the 2020s.

If this fight happens, 100% Andre Ward will prevail, I don't know how, but Andre Ward has a lifelong history of never losing. The best undefeated run in boxing history...

    • I can't envision Andre Ward get beaten up (let alone badly), he never lost any fight in all his adult life!
    • I can envision Anthony Joshua get beaten up badly, because Andy Snicker Ruiz just did that

Ward never faced a genuine World Class HW

Joshua got beat up by a genuine World level HW

He should fight Usyk when Usyk is elevated from interim champ to regular champ.

Chris Byrd got beat up by Super Middleweights, so he made living in the easier division
    Short Heavyweights
are Out-of-shape Super Middle Weights who can't make it in the fast divisions

Andre Ward decided Anthony Joshua is the low-hanging fruit at Heavyweight, Usyk is too fast and still rangier than Ward, Wilder too fast, Tyson Fury too rangy....Anthony Joshua got KOed by Andy Ruiz, this fight is what made Andre Ward start plotting...

If Andre Ward ends up taking this fight, all credit goes to Andy Snickers Ruiz

No way he takes Usyk, Andre Ward is a genius and he knows he physically can't beat Usyk due to the size-speed & peak confidence at this stage of his career.

What is going here...is that Andre Ward is looking at Anthony Joshua the same way Roy jones Jr saw John Ruiz...The Vulnerable Heavyweight that he can beat

If he could add the needed weight and get a couple if tune-up fights, i would most certainly give him a shot.

AJ has proven to have trouble with smaller fighters and has also proven to be a quitter.

Definitely two factors that would hinder him against a master like Ward.

Of course adding that weight is easier said then done

I always think of ward as a cautious fighter who didn’t take much damage throughout his career. Must have been in an accident or something to get brain damage.

AJ has an 11” reach advantage and Ward has been hurt by Darnell Boone a super middleweight gate keeper. He wouldn’t even be able to outbox AJ with the reach and power disadvantage. He’d be scared to take risks and let his hands go.

Andre Ward walks around 190s, if this fight happens he will come at that weight. Bulking up will not help vs Anthony Joshua, because even at 200s can't physically overpower Anthony Joshua. So he must have a unique plan, probably darting in and out, lots of body shots tenderizing Joshua and stopping him in the later rounds.
