If Oscar had beaten Hopkins and Floyd. How would he go down in history. As one of the greatest? Please tell me your views.

he would deffinatley go down as a great if he got the nod against those 2 fighters, the hopkins fight was the only time i can recall oscar being convincingly beaten. other results could of gone his way (trinidad and mosley2) PBF was close, came down to the last round. in saying that though he was pretty lucky in my view to beat felix sturm.

i still consider oscar a great fighter, he willingness to fight anyone was always something i admired win loose or draw.

lets face it, oscar has fought the best competition since he was very young. he was robbed against trinadad, and i think in shane 2 (not robbed but should have got the nod)...

bernard was way tobig for him and well, PBF is something special isnt he?

HE still got gifts against Quartey, Whitaker, Sturm

If he'd beat Hopkins and Mayweather he wouldn't have been Oscar Delahoya, because Oscar can't manage that. And the Bhops he faced was ancient and the Mayweather he faced was 2 weight classes smaller.

Oscars actual losses were Mosley twice, Trinidad, PBF, and hopkins.
Gift wins that should have been losses were Sturm, Whitaker, and Quartey.
That's 8 losses. His most impressive win considered by most fans is Vargas.
    And
Vargas was shot when he fought Oscar. In the 3 fights befoe he fought Oscar he had been sent to the hospital twice overnight for observation he was beaten up so bad. The two fights before he fought Oscar he was knocked down by weak hitting rivera and in trouble repeatedly against journeyman
    Shibata Flores.
So here is a fighter that should have 8 losses and a padded record of fighting smaller guys and the career defining fight was, acording to most, a beaten Vargas. How in the hell can you even think of putting Oscar in the top 5 or 10. Ring Mag had him at #78 in the top 100 at one time. After having 3 losses in his last 5 fights I wonder where they have him now.
would Oscar have been top 5 or top 10 by beating a 40 year old hopkins or PGF who was fighting 2 weight classes above his best weight? Are you serious?

Lol you really are an Oscar hater arent you. If your going to include gift wins he got (I agree with him losing to Sturm, Whitaker could have gone either way, and he beat Quartay), you have to include that HE was robbed against Trinidad.

Oscar will always be a great boxing legends are a mixture of ability and popularity. I'm not saying this mixture holds true for all fans of the game but its reality. But to say "if" he beat someone would be a stretch because he didn't and I must agree I though he lost to Strum, Ike and Swea. It does not take away from his star power and his warrior like style in the ring (except for the Tito fight which was probably the worst preformance from both men while in their primes)

Hard to say as Mayweather became Mayweather after defeating Oscar so if he lost Mayweather wouldn't be viewed the same. It would matter what Mayweather did with his career afterwards.

The Hopkins win would have been amazing though. If he beat Hopkins he may have challenged Jones next.

People would say he beat an old Hopkins and a small Mayweather.

He doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves for beating top 3 P4P Pernell Whitaker because Whitaker was "old", and he doesn't get the credit he deserves for pummeling a 96-1 JCC the way he did also because he was old.

Oscar's resume is nitpicked a lot and I doubt if he beat Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao, people would give him much credit. Pacquiao was seen as a cherrypick against a LW and a farce of a fight, so you know he wouldn't have gotten any credit for that.

Maybe, just maybe, if Hopkins went on to do what he did after a loss to DLH, then people would have given him credit. But keep in mind, Hopkins got the opportunities he got after DLH, for beating DLH. So if he had lost, then maybe he wouldn't have gone on to do what he did.
