Not a proper knockdown in the first, IMO. Clearly a flash KD, a good shot from Bogs while Conteh was off-balance. Otherwise, Conteh dominated. Good performance. Crazy to think at one point, Bogs was undefeated in 54 fights.

I have 2 agree. I don't think that Conteh would have gone down from that punch if he were planted, 4 instance.

George, do you or @William Walker know the British scoring used in the Conteh-Burnett fight? Was it 10 - 9 1/2? Also, with a knockdown does that become 10-9? I believe Harry Gibbs had it 98 1/2 - 98 1/2, but I could never see that.

Thnx 4 snatching me scartissue, but I honestly do not know about this. One, I'm American, and two, I have never bothered 2 look it up, but I do wonder how Harry Gibbs wound up w/ 98. 5. @George Crowcroft, could u help us out?

    John Conteh v Jesse Burnett

Round 1: Burnett (scored a knockdown)
    Round 2: Burnett
    Round 3: Conteh
    Round 4: Even
    Round 5: Conteh
    Round 6: Conteh
    Round 7: Burnett
Round 8: Burnett (scored a knockdown)
    Round 9: Conteh
    Round 10: Burnett

This was my card. If it was 10 - 9 1/2 scoring, my card would read 98 - 96 1/2 for Burnett.

I watched a very entertaining fight today between Terrance Alli and John Meekins in a 12 rounder. Here we go.

    Round 1: 10-9 Alli
    Round 2: 10-9 Alli
    Round 3: 10-9 Alli
    Round 4: 10-9 Alli
    Round 5: 10-10 Even
    Round 6: 10-9 Meekins
    Round 7: 10-9 Alli
    Round 8: 10-9 Alli
    Round 9: 10-9 Alli
    Round 10: 10-9 Alli
    Round 11: 10-10 Even
Round 12: 10-9 Meekins (best round)

Total: 118-112 Alli (actual scores: all 3 officials scored the bout 117-111 for Alli)

Despite the lopsidedness of the scores, it really was a decent bout. When Meekins did lash out the fight was truly something, but Alli just fought such a brilliant fight and was so busy it just held Meekins at bay. But let me tell you about that 12th. If we knew about this round, this would have been a good contender for the best 12th round in the 'Greatest rounds' thread that @Saintpat ran last summer.

The mention of Michael Dokes on a couple threads inspired me to go rewatch him vs. Donovan Ruddock.

I had it 2-1 Razor after three and then the smash happened.

Such a devastating knockout. Dokes’ last stand, reallly, but he came to fight and roughed up Ruddock a good bit on the infighting but just couldn’t take that devastating power.

Run fight with a brutal ending.

Fellas, I watched this fight tonight and enjoyed myself a lot. I heard it was hard to score so kept track of my card. I have to say, what a fight! Rounds five and twelve were the standouts for me, buy it was consistently good. I think Tiozzo coulda won this fight, but Hill's skills took it. Hill's underrated movement was excellent as always, and I think it's why Tiozzo didn't throw as much as he ought to. He simply wasn't in range enough, and after being decked by jabs in the first two, he showed Hill's jab lots of respect. He didn't force the issue enough IMO. Hill took this with room to spare on my card, I had him winning eight rounds.

Oddly enough, Merchant always acted like Marquez rightfully lost this fight whenever it was mentioned down the road

Anyone here know of any Freddie Little fights existing anywhere, other than the 2nd rd KO of the Japanese fighter Hisao Minami?
