Joyce hasn't fought anyone who has that old man power like Ortiz.

I would think JJ should be the fave. But I can't count out Ortiz so easily on this. Age don't mean anything until they actually LOOK old.

Yoka, Dubois, Hrgovic, off the top of my head.

What old man power KO's has Ortiz got on his record to prove your point? Thompson?? Jennings?? Flores??

Are you also suggesting Ortiz hits harder as he gets older?

My point regarding age is that he has had ample time carve out some sort of record and that might indicate that he has reached his ceiling. The best name on his record is Bryant Jennings. Tony Thompson was 44 and not interested. Malik Scott was not interested and has an enormously padded record.

Although I rate Ortiz well, he's really beaten nobody who's that good. Joyce is a lot taller and longer, a lot younger, a hell of a lot more fit, stronger and has a better chin. Ortiz has more chance of beating Anthony Joshua than Joe Joyce. At least he gasses and has a dubious heart and chin.

Ortiz breaks his hands on Joe’s face and Joe stops him.

Can agree with this. Except the part of Ortiz having a better chance against Aj than JJ. My only concern w/ JJ is he's KO'd about all those he's fought. It's possible his stamina over 10-12 rounds might be garbage. But we'll see, hopefully Ortiz v JJ is a good bout.

I think Ortiz gets banged out by Joshua, but I think he has more of a chance against him than Joyce. Joyce is hailed here in the UK for his stamina to no end. A lot of testimonies from people that have been around him in the gym. Apparently he has a ridiculous gas tank that is rarely seen. I think that it's probably true.

I can't see Ortiz vs Joyce ever happening. I would like to see Ortiz in another couple of decent bouts, though. I do rate him fairly well for somebody with such a shallow record.

I'd hate to see this match, since I like both guys. But in all likelihood Joe takes it. He's fresher, his chin can stand up to an Ortiz bomb, and Joe's cardio is incredible, the less Ortiz, punches, the more Joe will. Joyce by KO9.

He will land a big shot, like Stiverne landed a big shot and Dubois landed several big shots. Trouble is you can't take Joyce out with one or two big shots. His chin's too good and he's too relentless and awkward for you to capitalise. Ortiz will look good for a few rounds, I guarantee that. Then the tremendous physical and mental pressure of Joyce will get to him and he'll start shipping a beating. By the mid way stage he's sucking air and taking numerous clubbing shots around his guard that are rattling him up but aren't quite powerful enough to put him down. At some point though either the ref or his corner waves it off when Joyce shows no sign of slowing down. Ortiz might even quit of his own volition.

    However it ends, Joyce wins.

If Ortiz has not fossilized yet, I got him. I know that sounds awfully convenient. If he loses "oh he's just too old". But the man IS old. Guess it'll depend on if he looks fine and Joyce still wins.

Joyce has continually showed he can walk through gunfire to land his slow thudding shots and break someone down. Chin, no stamina issues, power house jab. I think he breaks Ortiz down and stops him late. Joyce's main deficiency is speed but ultimately he pretty much catches up to everyone (so far). I think whoever beats Joyce is going to have to do so on the move. You can't sit there with him
