Agreed. It really is something boxing needs. Make the best fights. Gaudy, inflated records be damned.

Hooker has been on the cusp for so long I'm not sure what to say, especially after the Saucedo fight I thought he would be a star. He went overseas and won the title from Flanagan and held on until Ramirez.
This guy needs an HBO hype job special done for him. Damn boxing has been boring on the marketing side since Friday Night Fights and HBO boxing folded.
None of these promoters know how to actually market a fighter without the TV magic of yesteryear.

I fear for Hooker's health here l. Triangle theories usually don't work, but you can still get a vague idea, so let's just compare the performance of Ramirez against Orozco and Ortiz against Orozco. If the same Ortiz shows up here that fought Orozco, Hooker's career could be in jeopardy. Maurice is going to be slaughtered.

I love it but let’s wait until they become in positions of power before we fully applaud them. I’ve watched many (ex. Thurman and Spence recently) energy change after a few million.

Hooker isn't overrated. To be overrated, you had to have had hype and being labeled a monster or something. Hooker is rated appropriately as a good fighter, nothing more, nothing less.

Great step up bout for The kid.
Should still wreck him but gotta watch out for that man’s hook.

also not sure how tested the kid is in deep waters. When was the last time he went 12 rounds or hell even 8?!

I’ll say Ortiz TKO round 8 or 9
If hooker fights him to take him to deep waters in championship rounds.

if hooker comes out guns blazing hoping to catch him cold ... much sooner then that.
Oddly enough I think guns blazing might not be a bad option as he does believe in his power.
