If there's one real positive of this, it's that it gives Nate a payday doing commentary. He briefly cameoed as a commentator on ESPN and acquitted himself pretty well, IIRC. Plus, he was always a worthwhile watch when he was active in the ring, so good for Galaxxy Warrior.

The live fights had more action than the De La Hoya-Trinidad replay. (LOL)

Nate is a good announcer. I've only seen the other guy serve as a ring announcer. Never heard him call fight. But they have a good rapport. Glad they fixed the audio issue.

So they couldn't find anyone for Ralph Murphy? (originally scheduled to face Beibut Shumenov in the co-main event)

As of this morning I thought King had still been scrambling to find him something. Why not have just done Langston vs. Murphy, then? If anybody is to have to left in the cold and sit the card out, wouldn't a journeyman like Webster be low man on the pole?

Well, their regular title, for sure. Which is sad, because that is the one that actually traces its lineage to Ali/Frazier/Tyson/Foreman/Holyfield/Lewis...

The one AJ has (the "Super championship") is technically only a decade old, in the infancy of its legacy.

Wait...so Holmes vs. Cooney is the actual main event?

Or rather, the walkout bout. They're saving it for last to cap off the PPV, anyway. Whatever you want to call it.

Charr has been stripped. This is for the vacant regular WBA heavyweight title.

So the ring announcer starts the pomp...and then we get the last bit of Randall vs. JCC to randomly kill 10 minutes?

Fres Oquendo says hold his beer.

(He says this from a nearby retirement community.)

DLH would've beaten Tito in a rematch had it not been for the SSM rivalry derailing plans for it, we all can agree?

I honestly and unironically feel bad that he hasn't gotten the shot that he was scheduled to have on multiple occasions. Those fights kept being postponed because his opponents failed drug tests, rather than due to any misbehavior on his part.

Plus, he took in Wilfred Benitez and family following Hurricane Maria. Dude's a good guy.

I agree; if anybody comes out of this whole debacle smelling like a rose, it's Fres moreso than Gilberto Mendoza, or Chagaev, or Charr, or King, or anybody else involved...but it's also a tad farcical that he's still not giving up the ghost at this point. On the one hand I respect doggedly pursuing it on principle, but on the other, if he does get what he wants, it'll further devalue a piece of the HW gold which...isn't great. There isn't much further down left for it to sink.
