I think it is a good idea. Gassiev used to be the WBA cruiser champ, so he is a company guy. To me, it makes a good fight. Bryan is a strapping heavy, and at his best, but still uproven against very high level competition. Gassiev was an elite cruiser in a crowded division, but unproven at heavy, and it remains to be seen how he recovers from injuries, inactivity, and the Usyk shellacking. Both could walk in with some confidence, and the winner would exorcise some stigma against them I would pick Gassiev, but I think this fight makes sense.
Bryan has a good jab and decent movement, plus he's a proper big boy, so I wouldn't mind seeing the matchup.
Indeed Bryan is talented, but the dude needs to start eating salads or something. He is at least 30 pounds above his natural fighting weight.
Yeah, fitness is clearly his primary issue. If he had a trimmer physique his style would appear more impressive as he'd be quicker and his output would be higher. In fact almost every part of his game would be improved currently if he just shed a few pounds. He is undoubtedly talented though, he had a very crisp jab for someone with so much ring rust.
Yeah he was. Most likely he should take some other fights, at least 2 before step up? Guy is young and still had injury and a bit ring rust, I think lad should " warm up ". Ofc guy could be improved a lot too because if he is learning and damn, he is young lad.
Correct me if I am wrong but I thought Helenius was in line for the WBA belt as the fight with Kownacki was an eliminator?
