 Finally! Finally a boxing news site has said "**** this ****!". If boxing media stops covering these farce titles as "titles", then that will force the ABC´s hands.
The WBA has managed to convince a lot of people, that many guys(Broner, Haye, Tank and now Bryant, Golovkin just to name a few)were champions when they were not.

**** me, I can´t remember the last time boxing took a step in the right direction. At any level.

It is about time the WBA was downgraded. Until yesterday they had four world heavyweight champions, and three of them suck.

    Please forgive my ignorance....

But... does this actually mean anything?

So some boxing website stopped recognizing them?

I dont get why this is news... but again, Im ignorant on the subject.

I've never even heard of World Boxing News. According to their website: "Headed by Boxing Association Writers of America auxiliary member Phil Jay, WBN has been covering the sport successfully for over a decade. A trusted source with fact-checking a regular occurrence, WBN is well-known around the globe. By 2020, WBN is the most visited independent boxing website."

    Color me un-impressed.

Well it has to start somewhere. I for one am supportive of the move. It is a good thing, the WBA belt situation has become a farce. It seems that over in Britain, the magazine 'Boxing News' might soon do something similar. Here is hoping...

To give some idea of their reach of World Boxing News, WBN has a Twitter footprint triple the size of BoxingNews24 at around 150k followers. That is quite large for boxing.

But I think what is also significant is that the magazine Boxing News stated they are/were considering declassifying the WBA in a recent podcast with the editor

    https://www.boxingnewsonline.net/podcast-its-time-for-the-boxing-world-to-ignore-the-wba/

Go to around the 28 minute mark.

i agree with you, but it's just a farce on a higher level than the other federations.
no great reset = no meaningful change for the sport.

I also do not recognize the WBA and I demand someone write a news article about my views.

    Immediately.

BoxRec should do the same. That would be more meaningful.

We all get our boxing news from websites like ESB, the Scene, fightnews, BoxRec and WBN.

WBN is the most visited source of boxing news in the world.

It would be better if there was just one recognised title per division. Too many titles from different sanctioning bodies and then each one has several versions of their titles.

This is dumb. The WBA has Joshua, Canelo, Jermell, Taylor, Teo and others. It will keep being recognized as long as the best continue to hold it.
