The only way Margarito would have won this fight is with plaster pads in his wraps. On an even playing field, Floyd takes him to school.
the only question is would it be like the maidana fight or the corrales fight? really can't see it going any other way.
Yep If you remember Floyd lost to Maidana Ended up " Maidana roughed me up & beat me up & the ref did nothing to stop him it wasnt fair" Dont worry Floyd we'll get Uncle Kenny Bayless for the rematch he'll look after you
You didnt see the first fight when Floyd was in tears after ?? ROFLMAO He really expected the ref to stop Maidana roughing him up . He thought all ref's were like Joe Cortez. This is the FIGHT GAME Floyd not the Ballet de Dance
some quotes i found about the potential fight Arum and Diaz say that the 'Pretty Boy' was offered in the neighborhood of $7 million to face Margarito. In what could best be described as a 'business move', the same guy who brazenly challenged the bigger Winky Wright decided to bypass Margarito, to collect nearly $4 million to spar with Sharmba Mitchell. "Flat turned him down like you can not believe," Arum said of Mayweather when he was offered a chance at the WBO title. "Any time we raised his name, Mayweather went crazy." With the help of HBO, Mayweather and adviser Alan Haymon broke their promotional agreement with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, and signed a one-fight deal with Dan Goossen, who is promoting Saturday's card. An enraged Arum sued. Eventually, HBO backed down and convinced Mayweather and Haymon to settle with Top Rank. They did last month. In return, Arum dropped his lawsuit. he also had this to say about a potential marg fight "Me and Margarito, we're not fighting to prove to the boxing fans who the best is. Who is Margarito? He don't bring s--- to the table,” which is strange as he seemingly brought more money, a mexican fanbase, and more accolades than sharmba. i dont get it. he also said this "If the No. 1 guy doesn't want to step to the plate, I'll go for the No. 2 guy. If the No. 2 guy doesn't want it, I'll fight the No. 3 guy. I see Sharmba as the No. 3 guy right now." which is quite puzzling since marg had been the #1 guy for a couple years in the ring rankings with sharmba nowhere in the top 10 and yet floyd says sharmba is the #3 guy? i dont get it. Seems like he refused to fight the better in house guys arum wanted him to fight and even broke his contract to fight unranked sharmba instead for about half the money. Then if you remember after this he fought zab after zab had just lost to unheralded baldomir when marg was still a viable option as the #1 ranked fighter(technically behind upset baldomir) what happened to all that ill fight the #1 guy and if he dont want it ill move on? #1 guy wanted it! All and all i dont see floyd ever fighting marg(prime marg at least) so i dont know how you could break down a fight between a guy who wants to fight and a guy who doesnt. it seems like a non starter. you need confidence to be a professional boxer and if you dont have it you dont get in the ring(with that opponent)
It's not smart to bet against Floyd but I would not have counted Margarito out on this one. Smaller and less tenacious come-forward-type fighters (Maidana, JLC come to mind) than Margarito gave Floyd problems. I think Floyd knew this.
