It will be fascinating to see how Wilder responds when he does eventually fight again. Beaten comprehensively by Fury, his aura gone. A year of inactivity too and he’s already mid 30s plus a fast twitch athlete. Usually I think he’d beat Martin very easily if they fight happened, possibly similar fashion to Brezeale. Just got no idea whether that Wilder exists anymore.
Of course it does. He's not going to lose to puddings like Martin just because he was defeated by Fury, who's one of the best of his generation and perhaps more than that.
We don't know what he has left, tho. He's getting older and his chin may have been cracked. Contrary to popular opinion on this forum, Wilder's punch resistance actually has been decent through this point in his career. But would he take those Ortiz shots post-Fury and stay on his feet? Not a given.
Then let's discuss Wilder against credible opponents, not puddings like Martin. Would Wilder against Joyce or Dubois be competitive? Highly likely. Martin? Come on.
A winnable fight against a ranked opponent for Wilder. Martin isn't trash, he has stopped Washington and has given Kownacki a good fight (probably would have won if it went 12 rounds instead of 10). The problem is that he doesn't do anything relevant with his lead hand and he's not gonna win a fast draw with Wilder when it comes to their rear hands. Wilder should get a stoppage with against a top 15/20 guy in his comeback fight, not the best fight ever, but it could be much worse.
It's definitely a solid re-entry back into his career. I wouldn't expect him to jump in against a Whyte. I'd be interested to see the strategy Martin takes against Wilder.

I think Martin would get crushed. I think he'd be tentative, looking out for Wilder's power. Sooner or later a big bomb will find him and Martin won't survive.
Martin is awful. Wilder Ko 1. As bad as Wilder’s resume is Martin’s is much worse. His only win of note is Glazkov whom was way overrated and undersized. And he won that because he tore a knee ligament in their fight. This is a total confidence builder for Wilder and I don’t expect it to go more than 1-2 rounds.
