This content is protected AJ’s 229 here and although he’s fighting a journeymen, you can tell he’s a lot more mobile, has quicker hands, and pretty explosive at this weight. His stamina would probably be a lot better to. Is 235 and below the weight he should be for fury? Bonus question: Why do journeymen even bother getting up after being dropped if they literally have no intention of winning
Exactly 240 is the best weight imo. People say 250 etc because they think Fury's would just lean of him, ragdoll him and drain his stamina if he was light but those huge herculean muscles eat away at his oxygen tank anyway. Almost half the reason Wilder got ragdolled was because Fury didn't respect him at all due to the fact Wilder cant fight in the pocket. If Fury tried to get close and/or lean on Aj he'd catch or at least see uppercuts and hooks that would check him and put him on the backfoot. And with that Furys main offense of weighing down on his opponents and smothering them is gone for a good amount of time. And at 240 Aj has decent speed, heavy hands, a decent gas tank and enough strength to at least hold his own in the clinches.
This, I also think fury’s gonna come in lighter. Even he knows that kronk strategy isn’t gonna work on AJ
I hope thats the case i want Fury on his best night. And Fury should drop down to 245 and dance around and box if he wants to beat Aj.
Fury shouldn't drop down lol Fury fights better at a higher weight. He debutted at 260. Fury is a natty 270 pound man. His stamina and speed don't suffer. AJ has started to slim back down to 240 away from his 254 hulk riod monster. Fury is going to put it on him and stop him Overly defensive Fury is long gone, being too defensive especially against poor stamina fighters is not as effective. Kronk Fury is coming....constant smart pressure drawing AJ onto him in till he becomes a sitting duck like Wilder.
Joshua won't see 225 ever again IMO, unless he (needlessly) cuts down his water weight. His best bet for me, now, is to be between 235-240, where he has solid legs, quickness all-round, is strong as an ox and can still punch **** out you. His combinations seemed very fluid even while weighing as high as 250, but they're noticeably better when he's a lower weight and they still do damage. I actually used to think we wouldn't see Joshua's true peak after Klitschko, since that right took away some of his ferocity, and you have to understand that the fights which followed (Takam and Parker) really backed that view up, and then the struggle with Povetkin wasn't encouraging either - Pov KOing Whyte or drawing with Hunter hadn't happened yet, so it was nowhere near as impressive. And then of course, he lost to Ruiz. I thought he'd lose the rematch based on this, and not being able to foresee Ruiz showing up looking like if fhe Fat Controller swapped his top hat for sombrero. I think he's definitely at his peak now, though. He's staying at a leaner weight, he's reverted to the more boxer-puncher style he had in the amateurs and vs Pulev, he was starting to incorporate a more diverse offense. I mean, I didn't think it was particularly diverse (I actually read that he set the compubox record for uppercuts thrown in a heavyweight title fight, but I don't know how true that is), but he's adding more weapons to use while fighting in a more refined, protective manner. Pulev was his best performance IMO, and if Fury isn't next, I hope to see him build on it. If Fury is next, well then he'll ****ing well need to.
Heavier or lighter, it's hard to determine just what level Joshua is. Post Wlad it's all highly suspect. Parker and Takam safety performances were pathetic for a supposed killer. They are small HWs without huge power. Parker was overhyped to begin with, as his post AJ performances have shown. Takam was already past it and never amazing. Povetkin win should not be considered special considering age and size disparity. Ruiz wins by TKO. Runs from even fatter Ruiz to get belts back. Who has ever seen a 6'5 ko artist running from a 5'11 obese man with mediocre power? Pulev was not only old but literally sick with Covid and couldn't pull out. If you're an honest AJ fan you must know that post Wlad he has not lived up to his hype and it's difficult to be impressed by these showings. He's going to have to beat Fury to save his reputation, because since the Wlad fight it's been pretty mediocre. And there are no excuses, he has all the money and coaching and trains all the time.
We have to save Aj before its too late. He's never met a fighter quite as powerful as Kronk Fury. Fury has knocked out every man he's faced. Quicker than Andy Ruiz, stronger than a Silverback Gorilla, punches harder than Wladimir Klitschko. Truly a monster.
The Way AJ looked like a lost kid in a boxing ring when Ruiz was inside on him is how he will look stuck on the outside against Fury. Up close he will do his best but when he is tired and Fury is on top of him he will probably just quit
People also underestimate Ajs speed. In all honesty him at 241 is far faster than fury at 260+. Fury would have to come in at 245 to match or surpass Ajs speed and when he's below 250 he doesn't have any notable power at all so like I've been saying Fury's best chance is to stay as far from Aj as possible
AJ throws a variety of punches in quick combinations, and he has ko power. Wilder literally just waits to land a right hand. You are also right about him being better defensively though
I'd say he's a good bit better offensively but to say he's 10X better offensively when Wilder has KOd every man but Fury that he's faced is kinda disingenuous. They have different styles of offence and you could argue either way which one is more effective but they're closely matched actually.
Well when you compare really compare wilders opponents to AJ’s it’s pretty clear that AJ’s offense is working at a much higher level
