Tony was a 17 yr old kid when he fought Rodney Jones had no manager or regular trainer . I was at both Santos fights in Puerto Rico & both were classic home town deals. Santos rivalled Andre Billy Goat Ward with his headbutts first one N/C & second a tech decision win to Santos. Tony's cuts were ghastly Santos got away with murder In San Juan Paul Williams beat Tony in a very close fight & Tony immediately asked for a rematch Paul was willing but Goosen said " Margarito is in our past not our future" & refused. Two untruths there Mr Pimp I never said Tony was sick against Williams that was a good close fight Williams deserved the win The Cotto rematch was almost a carbon copy of the first except Tony only had one good eye from round 2. Just like fight1 Cotto started to wilt & Tony stared at him across the ring beating his chest. Only then did that doc decide to stop the fight, not to save Tony's eye but to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting on his knees AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! BTW was that the same doctor that demanded Tony break training & fly across country, days before the fight, to examine his eye to " see if he was fit to fight with that eye" Or more likely to see it Cotto could take his sight away in it by targetting it " lol They werent going to call that fight off & you know it, just another ploy

Different styles.. Canelo didn't apply pressure until late, he tried to box. AM would just walk down relentlessly, he was a cardio machine with an insane chin. Floyd would win a Decision but it would be uncomfortable at times.

Styles make fights. Canelo and his team used the wrong plan of attack. Trying to outbox FLoyd was definitely not the best plan of attack. Margarito would not have done that, he had no choice as he was not a great boxer, but his consistent come forward style might have troubled FLoyd the same way guys like Castillo, Maidana and Cotto, to some extent did.
