Joe Joyce claims it wouldn't be wise for Fury to fight aggressively against Joshua

I've never been a fan of Joshua and I've always been a fan of Furys. I never care what the outcome is when two top fighters meet, just that they both put forth championship caliber efforts. I now, because of this board alone, am finding myself hoping in the back of my brain Joshua shuts up Furys obnoxious cheerleaders.

I was rooting for him in the olympics

Savon definitely beat him that bad decision left a chip on my shoulder.

Wilder is a more dangerous puncher than AJ, Parker used negative tactics v AJ and wasn`t hurt once plus had AJ worried a couple of times only for the ref to seperate the two fighters everytime they got close to each other.

Posted this a while back Rob. I think Fury will shut down every angle AJ sees, just like against Klitschko. It's awful to watch but you have to admire the sheer intelligence of it.

It's simple really. You don't fight to your opponent's strengths. No way will Fury come forward and throw against Joshua. No chance AJ tries to outspeed Fury.
It's actually a pretty horrible clash of styles. Good luck selling the rematch.

Imo it isnt. Styles do make fights and that is why i think Aj will be Fury's most dangerous opponent and Otto Wallin and Wladimir Klitschko both reinforced my opinion.

Klitschko stood at range against Fury because thats his usual style and that is the very reason he lost. Fury was more awkward, taller, possessed superior reach, superior speed, and superior head movement. Fury also perplexed him with feints. Due to these factors he outboxed Klitschko at range and completely shut him down. But when Klitschko started to engage with him by round 12 in a last ditch effort to win he had success. Landing a lot more punches and even somewhat buckled Fury's legs with a left hook. He started to give Fury trouble and turn the tide but it was already too late.

Joshua is a lot younger and far more agressive than Klitschko and is far better than Klitschko and mid-close range. He's a better counter puncher than Klitschko also. Joshua isn't going to be bamboozled on the outside and do nothing. He would be a lot more willing to take the fight to Fury. The Otto Wallin fight wasn't that long ago. Wallin gave him so much trouble in the earlier rounds because he wasn't doing any jab for jab nonsense. He applyed educated pressure, worked the body every now and then and got on the inside multiple times. It's not a coincidence a nobody like Wallin was able to give Fury some trouble

For these reasons i just dont see why people think this fight is going to be one sided. From the looks of it people are going to be surprised if Aj wins. I wouldn't

I think Fury has a better chance of fighting defensively and not getting caught than against Wilder, a better chance of technically winning a defensive UD.
BUT, there are other issues at play. Joshua has a history of getting favourable treatment, including on the cards in many fights. It is very risky to fight a defensive fight against Joshua simply due to the fact you might not be given the rounds you deserve. Joshua will likely be given rounds simply based on pressure, muscles and sponsorships.

So it might be more likely he uses the deep water plan, safer the first half and then turn the screw and try to get the stoppage when Joshua gets sluggish. That's still risky, actually, because Fury could be down on the cards by then and actually need the stoppage to win.

Don't underestimate the corruption behind Joshua! Let's remember, there was no way Wlad was winning their fight on the cards if the uppercut hadn't landed, despite outboxing Joshua for most of the fight and having him hurt longer. And Wlad is loved far more than Fury in the UK boxing/commercial establishment given his feminist/rainbow/globalist politics.

I think Fury could win with either strategy, but I think his best best is to box off the backfoot. AJ has better counters and upper cuts than Wilder, so Fury has a lot more risk coming forward against AJ than Wilder. AJ hasn't fought anyone as tall or as elusive as Fury and I don't think he's ever had to cut off the ring. This is where I would favor Fury.

0%. Bit dramatic, even if the fight were to be entirely rigged, which I'm not suggesting, mishaps and mistakes can still happen. I do agree however that if Fury fights sensibly ala the Wlad fight he breezes a decision. Wouldn't advise him to showboat and do the hands behind the back and such crowd pleasing that he loves to do though.

    Here is my take:
Fury and Wilder both sit at the extremes - Fury for skills and Wilder for one punch KO power.
AJ sits halfway between them - harder puncher than Fury but less skilled but he is more skilled than wilder.
Up until Ruiz I would have said mental strength evens and had a git feel the fight was 70/30 in Joshuas favour.
Post AJ / Ruiz and Fury / Wilder I would swap those figures around but Fury has the chance to change those odds either way.
If he fights like he did Vs Klitchko it is 80/20 Fury. If he fights like he did in WIlder 2 it is a 50/50 fight.
Fans of both as fighters and have no skin in the game so just hoping the fight happens and we get a true UK superfight!
