I think Evander is all wrong for Gentleman Jim and basically beats the **** out of him.

Evander knocks Corbett's thong leather thing off in the 3rd round. The PPV telecast goes black while they used a towel to cover up Corbett's exposed junk while he lies unconscious on the canvas. Hours later, when he finally wakes up, Corbett tells reporters that "Jeffries would destroy the black boxer".

Corbett gets crushed in 4 rounds max. He'd irratate Holyfield rather than hurt!

In this one I would take Holyfield by late stoppage, with Corbett looking good early. KO/TKO 10 is my pick.

Holyfield never fought anybody that moved like Corbett did! Evander won't know what's happening when he faces those old school skills and is befuddled by what Corbett's doing. Take that to the bank :deal:

I think that Corbett would give Holyfield a lot of problems with his feints and movement.

In the end however we have to pick a winner, and Holyfield just seems to be a much safer bet.

Holyfield didn't fight many guys with fast hands and speed, but he did fight Dokes who had blistering hand speed and good ring IQ. I guess the closest guys to Corbett that he fought were Tillis and Byrd.

Holyfield stopped Tillis and he was pretty far past his prime against Byrd. Kind of hard to guess based on those fights but what we do know is Holyfield is a class above Corbett in overall ability. He's more durable, more well rounded, better combination puncher, better stamina. I think he would be smart and not just chase Corbett around, he tries trap him and use his own footwork to set up his shots. Holyfield was good at throwing people off so they didn't know what punch he was going for.

Corbett had 20 fights, I think only 8 of them were against men over 175lbs.He won 3 of them.

Holyfield had trouble against movers. Corbett had some facets to his game that Holy had never seen before

    Holyfield in 1-2 rounds.
Corbett was an innovator with Boxing Footwork and tired out John L Sullivan. But Evander is way more advanced, stronger, faster, and more evasive than Corbett was.

Corbett never fought anyone heavy 200+ really, Like a proper 200 pounder. And Holyfield at heavy or even Cruiserweight is a goddamn phenom, Evander would destroy Corbett.

Now Evander Holyfield vs Bob Fitzsimmons? That may be more unique than I would expect.
