I see a lot of MMA fights where jabbing isn`t used much, the jab is a very important tool in fighting, is the jab underused in MMA fights?
The jab in boxing is used for a great deal of things, such as disrupting an opponent's offense and setting up your own. MMA has other tools for that, such as the lowkick. With the emphasis on clinch fighting and grappling it's only natural the jab will take a step back.
True once GSP started training with Freddie Roach his boxing became some of if not the best boxing in UFC history (besides James Toney and Adesanya). GSP's second half of his career approach was really amazing having a camp where he would spar with the best boxers and muay Thai fighters in the world and wrestle and do BJJ with the best at their sport. Its incredible how well he was able to put it all together This content is protected
I assure you there isn't almost a single mma fight that doesn't have a jab in them. The most underrated technique is the oblique kick, especially to the knee area.
