Yes, why was ODLH at 147?

ODLH scheduled a rematch with Floyd at 147. Floyd backed out and ODLH dragged Pac's ass up to 147 from LW when prior to that, Pac wasn't even on his radar. People re-writing history, Pac was the one at a HUGE disadvantage going into that fight. I repeat, the viewpoint going into that fight was ODLH was still elite as he took Floyd to a split decision the fight before, a megafight rematch was scheduled with Floyd at 147 until Floyd decided he didn't want to make all that money, obviously saw enough of a risk in Oscar given their last fight. Oscar was going to kill Pac.

Pac beats the odds. That's what he does, all his life, and that's why he's legendary. He didn't have 50 fights in his backyard in General Santos City with drug agencies and Refs holding his hand.

So how is that a "CW".

Also 7 years BS. Pac could drop to 140 and it wouldn't affect him 1 bit. Fighters belong where they belong, ODLH was always a small 154-160, he was a natural 147. That's why he was working down to 147, his previous fight was 150 with Forbes.

So how was it a catch weight ? DLH was the one who wanted the fight and dragged a smaller guy up in weight. DLH was still a big draw at the time and made the call. Also how many fight and how long Had Pac fought at 147. I’ll wait.

Oscar calls out and challenges Pacquiao to a fight at 147.

Pacquiao accepts Oscar's challenge and beats his ass at 147, which was the weight Oscar proposed.

    Where was the catchweight?

Was Pac supposed to go up THREE weight classes?

Furthermore, Pac went up to 147 and weighed in at 142 pounds. That kinda tells you how confident Oscar was asking for the fight to be at welterweight.

De la hoya wasnt a ww. His division he fought in was 154. He long outgrew the division, and manny has been in or around the division since 08.. How many years is that.. ill wait.

The cw, and only realistic way that pac would even consider the fight against oscar was at 147. Oscar knew this which why it was proposed at 147 when the fight began to have rumblings of coming to fruition. We all know there would be no way in hell that pac would have considered fighting De La Hoya at 154.

    nope, not the same

    he is not likeable
I’ll give you that. & he does suck at welter weight.

    HOWEVER
    See this list below

    Roy Jones Jr
    Paquiaou
    Juan Manuel Márquez
    Broner
    Canelo
    Oscar de la hoya
    Floyd Mayweather
    Tommy hearns
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Roberto Duran
    Pernell Whitaker
    Erik Morales
    Miguel cotto
    Mikey García

all have won belts in at least 4 different weight divisions.

    like I said
can’t take that away from them.

& that is a hell of a list to be in company with.

    That’s “legacy “

    that being said

    1. Spence
    2. Crawford
    3. Mikey

In the order of difficulty for pac in his possible next fight.

    not a Mikey lover,
    Just not a hater either.

I don’t give a **** what weight he was fighting at. He called a smaller guy up. Fighting one weight class above or bellow you at any given time , be it first time or in year prior , does not make it a catch weight. A catch weight is a limit set below the weight limit for that class. Which was not the case here, either fighter can come in at 147. Hence no catch weight.

So if Pac at mid 40s decides to go down to 140 and ends up unify there , you going to call that a catch weight? He hasn’t fought there in years. Or it only applies to fighters you don’t hate ?

Adrien Broner is also on that list.

I recommend you not dwell just on the numbers, as these days they are somewhat meaningless.
Devin Haney is technically a 2 time champ.
Robert Guerrero still claims that he is 6 time champ in 4 divisions.

That wasn't a catchweight. That was simply ODLH deciding to go too low in weight. Wasn't Pac's fault for that. Neither was Oscar's rehydration.
