Someone in classic wrote this on a thread titled Hagler v GGG, does this claim make any sense? I don`t think anyone under 168 would stop GGG.

200 is a stretch, but it wouldn't be easy.

Anything can happen in a boxing ring, especially in a 15 round fight. RJJ might. Hagler might. Sure there is some other historic great that I'm missing as a potential.

I mean on his best night I could see maybe 168 being the line 200 seems ludicrous considering some of the punchers and giants who could make 200 in their day.

Also stopping him on his feet vs stopping them for a 10 count or with a 3 knockdown rule in effect? Different orders. Hard for me to imagine ggg spark out but a late fight tko stoppage by an atg? Maybe.

Guys (from recent history I don't know the older fighters well enough) at 168 I could maybe see stop ggg on their best night. The mw listed I assume would be fighting ggg at 168 and that they'd have a little more power at the higher weight.

    hagler
    RJJ
julian jackson (would need an absolute perfect punch just to rattle ggg enough to maybe hit him with a couple follow up shots)
Iran barkley (a very inconsistent favorite but on his best night I think he's a threat to knock any mw out)
Adonis stevenson (even tho I think he was overrated at lhw and fell in love with his power he was a legit puncher at 168)

But I like ggg to survive all those fights and to probably beat jackson stevenson and barkley and be decisioned by rjj and hagler

And he landed huge punches on GGG which didn't faze him one bit + it's clear GGG showed him no respect in the ring, he didn't try to defend even.

If that were the case he should have proved it and fought Ward at whatever weight Ward pleased.

Personally I think a whole laundry list of guys between 154 and 175 could stop him, but we'll never really cause he spent most of his career facing guys like Steve Rolls

No way could Jones have stopped GGG, plenty of fighters went the distance with Roy he was a vert careful fighter and GGG would be firing jabs at him all night, Roy didn`t have the work-rate to stop GGG and GGG would have taken Roy`s punches far better than Roy would have taken GGG`s best shots.

No 154 pounder could have stopped GGG, the only one that might in history was Julian Jackson.

Gerald McClellan most definitely has the power to stop anyone under 200 pounds.

RJJ could stop him if he landed flush.

Michael Moorer at LHW has the power to stop him.

Bob Foster has the power too.

I'd even give Hearns a shot if he landed flush with the right hand and followed up with the left hook turned in.

GGG has a good chin, but can't think of anyone he fought that I would consider a monster puncher. I always thought having good defense as superior to a good chin. I think GGG has good defense as well, so I think he'd last 12 against many punchers, and probably stop a good portion of them based on his own punching power.

I think top punchers at 175 like a Beterbiev would do it and any of the top guys at 200.
