Just saw this video: This content is protected I didnt know where to post it, but since he adresses Boxing most of the time in the vid, i thought this is the right place. Your thoughts? The money thing is indeed a point. But its obvious he always tries to send some little needle stitches towards Boxing. Isnt the UFC "dying" a little bit too? To me they had also much exciting times...
The UFC will die or at least fade into the background if they continue to put out these paper thin cards filled with bums that nobody cares about. Can't believe this weekend's card is a PPV. Take the main event out and it's barely even Fight Night tier.
I can't stand UFC . A "sport" where it's perfectly ok to sit on a man (or woman) and punch him while he's down is not a sport imho. Just unconstrained violence. Boxing can be brutal but it's displined in it's brutality which is why i love it. Boxing will never die. Shove it Dana.
Hes been saying it for years and it's still here Lots of big fight potential, rising stars and emerging markets I'll listen to the vid later
Boxing is not Dying. It is the one sport that has maintained and not turned into a laughingstock like other sports. If you look at all the team based sports, they have changed so much throughout the decades. Boxing though stays the same. A boxing match is still pretty much the same as it was generations ago. You can't say that about other sports. Covid has taken a toll on all sports boxing included but Boxing will never die. It can never turn into a farce like other sports have.
Im first to admit the boxing business has some major self destructive tendencies mostly based on short sighted money grabs and some cultural shifts but dana white is a dumb pos. I can't get into watching ufc myself even though I train muay thai at an mma gym. Wrestling just bores the **** out of me as a spectator sport. Id rather watch boxing or kickboxing. But to each their own.
UFC just had a blockbuster year in 2020 after years of dwindling PPV sales and ratings. Their deal with ESPN has been massive and they keep expanding overseas. 2021 was kicked off with a banger as well. Meanwhile what exactly did boxing do in 2020? Or so far this year?
Says the guy who’s been teasing that the UFC was trying to get a foothold in boxing for years. Outside of the US MMA (really just UFC at this point as they’ve suffocated most of the promising rival and regional promotions with their aggressive antitrust policies) is on life support. They don’t have any marquee international stars anymore that’s why they need to keep pushing Mcgregor into fights he has no business being in anymore.
I agree. The wrestling, as much as I respect it, I don't want to watch it. I think the striking is too poor so I can't watch it for that, either. The ring is too big too imo. I do like the 3x5min rounds and the 5x5min rounds but if they go to the ground after 30 seconds its really boring. I do like that they can create the match ups but I still prefer quality over quantity so the UFC needs to be mindful of that.
Didn't he want to a get a foothold into boxing? Sprinkle some of his UFC magic glitter on the sport. I guess that didn't work out for him, so the sport must be dying. Obviously...
