This content is protected I’ve long known this fight. But I have never noticed this before. in many ways this fight was one of the first bad turning points of Leon’s career. Spinks looked up for this fight. But if you look closely, after a good start from Leon, just as Gerrie finally claws his way into the fight at 1.12 point does he sink his teeth into Leon’s neck?
Seriously though, no he doesn't bite him. Gerrie used to talk **** to his opponents and I think he said something in Leon's ear. You can see Leon laugh right after that. Pretty sure that if it was a bite people would have made a fuss, there would have been marks etc.
It could be, but I can’t be certain. With the mouth piece in it is conceivable he could nip without breaking skin. I think it would be ironic if the downfall of a fighter Ali named the vampire actually started with a bite!
Not that I know of? I don’t think I have ever heard Leon’s explanation for this fight. He certainly started well. I think Coetzee beat a good Leon.
It sure looks to me like he bit him and Spinks had a brief pained expression. The fact that Spinks didn't complain and there were no apparent marks does not prove it didn't happen.
Leon doesn't react the way a fighter who has been bitten would react. Seen lots of actual bites and this isn't one. He's obviously laughing at something. Clearly Coetzee was talking some smack, maybe even in Afrikaans!
