People underestimate the effect of inactivity for these fighters. Sparring is just not the same.

Most boxers and professional athletes cannot cope with inactivity.

    Fury doesn't, he's a freak.

He was out of the ring for a few years, came back with two tune-up fights, and took on a fight against the biggest puncher in heavyweight history, in a fight that many thought he would get knocked out early.

Fury was a junkie and came back and battered Wilder, he should be fine

If he’s concerned about it from his own perspective he should organise a tune up fight for a tiny purse or free and have it in the next couple of months.

There are plenty of durable solid boxers who’d give him rounds without posing much of a threat. Someone like Takam perhaps.

The AJ negotiations seem to be drawing out for quite a while, wouldn’t be surprised if the fight happens in August or something.

He can’t be that concerned, Frank Warren is on record as saying that Fury didn’t fight on 5th December against Agit Kabayel due to his proposed purse size.

Exactly, you cant demand ridiculous money then whinge about inactivity. Fury needs to either get a quick tune up or shut up aboit it and fight AJ

In fairness he’s doing his usual fight building stuff. Posting on social media, the video looking a bit fat, this hint about inactivity - it’s all calculated to build interest in the fight.

People get quite caught up in it but I think this is primarily fight building/mind games. Although I think he has a point about relative inactivity.

AJ had a year between Pulev and Ruiz 2.

would not be in the least bit surprised if Fury put this is out on purpose, he is a master of mental warfare.
