This is a very good point but I dont think any business prospers by alienating its regulator customers. Obviously you need to appeal to the ' pass by trade ' but the obnoxious nature of the Sky team isnt the way to go. When Richard Keys was their football host in the early days he used to get criticised for pretending that a 0-0 between Sunderland and Norwich was better that Italy v Brazil from the 1982 World Cup. He stopped that eventually. Most viewers hate being told how good something is that they are watching. Let them be the judge of that. Its patronising and insulting to the viewers intelligence and they really should know better. Did anyone really, really enjoy Clay/Kongo and Cullen/Cheilli? They were decent scraps that you would see on most undercards. The true test of anything is whether you remember it in years to come. Hagler/Hearns, Benn/Eubank 1, Tyson/Douglas even Macklin/Moore and Arthur/Gomez, these fights stand the test of time, those two wont, no matter what Smith says.
Adam Smith saying that Reece Mould would ' come again ' while he was flat out on the canvas receiving medical attention and oxygen. I know hes an easy target with his verbal diarrhoea and incompetence but he must be the worse in tv sport.
One of the rounds he was banging on about books and stats Warrington reads. I don't care, just commentate on what's in front of you. What's the point in Clarke, gets replaced by Smith for the main events.
Makes Halling look facking superb. I’d happily have him back. He didn’t half spout the drivel of what Sky wanted him to say but he was 100x the commentator of Smith. I was amongst the people on here who slated him but I realise now it wasn’t his fault it was the agendas. Watt used to get tremendous hate on here but I loved him, his voice was synonymous with a good fight, just like Ian Darke! I love when it’s Ian’s Darke’s turn on the BT sport footy. Proper that.
