Thanks. Yeah, these fighters from former Soviet states are gym rats who generally train like demons and train all year round and you rarely see them out of shape. Can you think of a single one of them who has lost their title on the scales due to not being able to make weight? There might be one or two of them but I can't think of any off the top of my head. GGG has only ever weighed over the MW limit three times in his career (43 fights) and two of them were non title fights early on in his career before he'd won a world title and the other was the catchweight fight against Steve Rolls of 164 which GGG came in at 163 for and he only weighed 1lb and 1¼lb over 160 respectively for the two non-title fights earlier on in his career. That kind of constant training over decades and having very extensive amateur careers of 300 fights or more takes its toll on your body. Hence, why the likes of Korobov, Loma, Usyk and Beterbiev's bodies have been falling apart on them or they started suffering injuries with increasing regularity when they hit their early-mid thirties. GGG has been surprisingly resilient on the injury front but then again these fighters from countries in the former Soviet union are generally very stoic and mentally tough road warriors who rarely pull out of fights if injured. GGG has a titanium chin, thunderous bone breaking power (literally) in both hands, a great jab and he's obviously a very skilled boxer. He's a dangerous customer and hard nights work for anyone at his best.
TBH Q at times it really does feel like plain hate towards successful EE fighters which is pathetic in any form let alone in sport.
Let me add on to this, Hagler : W against Hearns.... A great win W against Vito.. Decentish W against Duran... Good win, but Duran was a damn lightweight W against Mugabi... Good win but Mugabi was literally knocking out no name cans before Hagler. Overall, that's not that good a resume. Or at least people hype these oldies up like they are indestructible yet they have pretty meh resumes.
I hate using the race card (as I hate the people who use it on me for simply giving valid criticism against Conelo), but I think there's an element of that. Or maybe an element of - we are going to focus on our fighters, you European fighters can just sit over there
Nothing for me to apologise for. It’s a fact Brook gave Lil G problems in the early rounds and bloodied his nose and face. Starling gave Nunn technical problems as would be expected being a technical defensively excellent fighter. I am certain that in a matchup Nunn beats Lil G. I think GGG is a very good fighter but he is highly overrated by his fanboys. I have even seen threads claiming he would beat Marvelous Marvin if you can believe that.
I think you need to read what you wrote and talk to yourself. I am not a SRL fan and candidly I dislike him as a man but as a fighter he is arguably in the top 5 of all time and frankly to discuss Lil G alongside him is sacrilege.
