I went with primo. But you can bet Tony will try every dirty trick in the book. Galento was awkward. He bobbed down almost to the floor then shot up with these thunderous hooks and crosses. If he caught you at the right time he could Knock out almost anyone. I just think that primos huge height advantage would take some of the sting off those shots in the way up
After they both fight a perfect fight, the judges declare it a draw. The fans dance in unison, and the streets are filled with parades celebrating the fight of the century.
Well, here's the thing. Obviously, Primo is bigger, more skilled, more experienced, and perhaps stronger. Galento is tougher but also employs a lot of dirty tactics. I think it could swing either way. Galento could lose by DQ or TKO. It's equally likely that Galento grits his teeth and batters Carnera from rope to rope.
In a slow beatdown, Primo overcomes about two dozen called and uncalled low blows to methodically beat Galento to a pulpy, bloody mess and stop him around the 13th.
I actually favor Galento. Primo just seems like he would fold against such rough and dirty tactics. He was a good boxer, but wasn't a killer. That's really what people don't get about Primo. He had skill and power, just not a natural fighter. That's why Baer just ran over him. He was intimidated. Similar to Joshua vs Ruiz I. That's how this goes down.
No matter how many times you knocked Carnera down, he kept getting up to take a beating. Galento, on the other hand, quit a couple times in the corner citing an injured hand. While neither was soft, in that respect I'd give Carnera the edge. A damaged hand never stopped Carnera from fighting on. I just don't picture Carnera losing to Galento at all. In fact, I think it would take a lot for Galento not to get DQed. Carnera's beltline would be staring him in the face half the time, given how Galento squatted down. Carnera might take more punches below the belt than above it. (LOL)
