Didn't catch the fight, but so many glaring holes in his defense. Fighters need to learn to keep their hands up instead of keeping it around their hip. Nearly every fighter who fights this way get KO'ed sooner or later.

 

This was a predictable KO loss for Kelly. I thought he would stopped around the 9th.

He needs a new trainer who can teach him how to win behind jab, how to tie an opponent up on the inside, and to keep his hands up when in range.

Booth has him fighting like Haye. An ambush fighter with big power shots. In reality, Josh should be fighting completely different to that as he doesn’t have the power.

He would be much better off fighting at range behind a jab utilising his superb foot movement. He needs a trainer and style that maximises his strengths.

Avanesyan impressed me in this fight. In the eyes of the pro-Kelly announcers, Kelly was thoroughly outboxing Avanesyan. Well, DA had other things to say about that. Against a bigger puncher Avanesyan could not just walk in as he was doing with Kelly, obviously not fearing Kelly's power. But Avanesyan is tough and took some good shots before stopping Kelly. The British announcers need to stop covering fights in such a one-sided manner. I have heard this so many times now. And, sadly, if a non-British fighter comes to England he better KO his British opponent because he will have a tough time getting a decision.

 

Impossible.

 

Yup I'm sick of British commentators who are undoubtedly the worst with their bias.

 

It´s not like keeping a high guard is gonna keep you from getting KO´d.
Actual defense is nuanced and layered.
Kelly simply lacks ring IQ.
