I agree. I would say Fury's resume got a boost. Wallin boxed very well. Breazeale takes a punch better than a punching bag -- I think only the biggest punchers can really put him down -- so I don't really hold anything against Wallin for not stopping Breazeale. Breazeale is also quite slow, so maybe it's not the most remarkable thing to out-box him, but still Wallin dominated and made very few mistakes. And then Fury beat Wallin. I would note that Wallin genuinely out-boxed Fury in the very early rounds -- which is quite remarkable really -- but ultimately the Fury-Wallin fight was only close because Fury got an unlucky cut. I don't think it would have been close if that severe cut hadn't happened. So, yeah, Wallin impressed and I would say Fury's resume got a boost. Edited for clarity.
So you say Breazeale is a punching bag and then go on to state Wallin impressed you by beating him on points? They’re both crap, it’s like watching footage of two drunks fight in a pub car park but the footage is in slow motion.
I don’t think it does a lot for it to be honest. DB is finished and the fact it went 12 speaks more volumes than anything else. RE the resume, I don’t think Fury really cares that it is threadbare. He has 3 good wins. Wlad and Wilder x2 (I count the draw as a win too). In today’s era he doesn’t need much more than that. They are better on his CV than any other active heavyweights wins.
By "punching bag" I meant he can absorb a lot of punches. Basically that he has a good chin effectively. You're right that that was rather bad and unclear word choice on my part. I agree Breazeale isn't the best, but I thought Wallin really schooled him and his boxing was pretty impeccable. If Wallin had won, but struggled in any manner, it would not have impressed me at all.
Shame about Breazeale. He was quite a dangerous fighter once upon a time. But that beating Deontay gave him, ruined him. If he could just get rid of those tits. Maybe.....
Wallin is definitely better than the likes of Breazeale who might be the worst ever 2x title challenger. Wallin lacks power, but he doesn't have everything else. I think he is predictable and lacks foot and hand speed, but he is tough. He's better than Breazeale, Molina, Martin and Takam, who are all "top 10 contenders" according to Joshua fanboys on this forum.
A totally flat one eyed Fury only had to barrel forward to beat Wallin Brezeale failed the same way. Furys ability knows no bounds
Martin and Takam? Not yet. I mean he might be better than either, but it's not clear cut the way it is with the other two names you listed.
