‘It’s not fair, Virgil is injured’. Literally the worst champions, surrendered their title Brook v Spence style.

No need to overreact. He lost, so what? Too much emphasis is put on the 0 these days. It’ll do him good if he learns from it. He’s been inactive but it’s not really his fault after that 2020 and the fights falling through.

I do wonder if he has the power to box like that as others have alluded to he doesn’t seem to have the ko power Haye and Groves had.

I haven’t really been interested in him before yesterday because he was fighting crap but I really enjoyed the way he fought for the first few rounds and on another day the margins are so fine he’d have possibly him stopped.

If he uses his jab consistently and doesn’t expend too much energy he would still beat Benn with his back hand behind his back.

He’s far from finished he lost to an experienced very good fella. So what?

I’m a red and the excuses are laughable. Injuries happen to every team. It’s how you deal with it. Whoever scouted that Turkish centre half and allowed Rhys Williams to come through the ranks need their heads testing. None of this time to adapt bollocks, the type of turd they’re doing isn’t stuff what comes when you step up a level or join a new league. It’s stuff you do when you’re shite. Nat Philips should have been in week in week out as soon as Matip was out for good, it’s indecisive managements fault.

No excuses mate - the best team by a mile this season have won the league and well done to them.

Great football to watch and it is going to be very difficult for any side to topple them next season.

This. Josh definitely needs to move up but my worry is that he doesn’t have the one shot pop to fight this ‘booth’ style. That said, lots of comments around the forum about Josh Kelly being arrogant and cocky etc are way off. Outside the ring, he is genuinely a lovely man. I hope he can regroup and find a new path as a pro.

He's not a ******, serial killer or terrorist though is he? I'm not really informed on his past, I only really care about the boxing side of it. I'm aware he's been inside but what I see now is someone who is very much in the public eye, with the likes of Matchroom, Sky, Queensbury, Hennessey, umpteen online boxing channels etc etc all associated with him and willing to work with him. I don't see you or Joshua slagging them off for working with Peter Fury so I think it's a bit daft to criticise me and Moog for suggesting that he'd be a good fit for Kelly.

I'm guessing by your post that he's been associated with drugs or still is....if he still is I'm sure he'll get put away for it again but he's clearly free and going about his business so I assume he's above board at the moment. I don't really show much interest in the pasts of these people. I'm content to stay ignorant with all that. Is he a good boxing trainer...yes, then that's all I care about.

Watched the fight and enjoyed it. Kelly boxed well but couldn't keep it up. It's not a bad loss, Avanesyan is a very good fighter. Kelly didn't take a career beating, he can come back.

I'm glad he lost a against a good operator moving up in class instead of not testing himself.

It's a loss, not the end of the world.

    Drug dealers are vermin mate.

I would like to think he has a conscience and turned his back on the drugs trade but we will only really know should he be caught again.

Again, if everyone is that concerned about stepping up too quickly, box on lower key events or at the start of the night before TV coverage starts-Learn your trade and step up slowly. However, the compromise is that you’re not getting 300k Instagram followers or brand deals- You can’t have it both ways.

What an absolutely dumb post, ( he’s not actually a ******, serial killer or terrorised) your words not mine, he’s probably indirectly responsible for more deaths through importing class A drugs than all of the above, please answer this question honestly if your child took an overdose of the drugs Fury is importing and died would you still be supporting him ???

Are we still talking about what Josh Kelly can do to get back on track?
