Josh Kelly brutally exposed- what does he need to do next?

I'm haven't criticised you. I'm simply voicing my opinion and providing you with a rationale as to why it is not, as you responded to Joshua, "strange". From what I can see, there is certainly no attempt from Joshua, nor myself, to "look down our nose" at you or to slag you off. I can only speak for myself when I say that I enjoy your posts, and a semi-casual like me can learn quite a lot from reading them. Long may it continue.

I have absolutely no interest into delving into his past. I'm at the limits of my knowledge, and only really know the bare minimum of what there is to know regarding his past. There are a plethora of criticisms that could be forged against the corporations you mentioned, but we were simply discussing what it would mean on the boxer's part to enter into such a relationship. Again, I don't think there's any issue with you suggesting that he would be a good fit for Kelly. I was addressing why I don't think Joshua's post is strange.

I'm probably more invested into certain ethical debates than most, and alas, I question my own liking of Tyson Fury. Some would say that it's a stupid thing to think about, but everyone is wired differently. Some have argued that Tyson Fury has benefited from certain questionable activity, but I'd argue that is not his own doing. But it's his willingness to work alongside Daniel Kinahan recently that has made me think twice, as it has done for several other parties.

But as you (or someone else) said, there's all sorts of seriously dodgy stuff going on throughout sport, so when I talk about ethics, where do I personally draw the line? It's almost an impossible equation and I generally take your approach and try my best to stay ignorant to it and just enjoy the sport for what it is. But at the same time, I won't fanboy anyone or elevate them into something I don't believe they are (not that anyone here is doing that).

Honestly a complete overhaul to his style is needed.moves around to much while having stamina issues.Throws leather like he's a power puncher and gets drawn into exchanges when he's clearly vulnerable.he's not the fighter he wants to be and the physicality of it is finding him out.or maybe he's just not good enough?..it's a tough game.

 

I think it does raise questions about Booth and the style he is teaching. Not for everyone and like Kelly can make you look amazing up to a certain level. They got it very wrong here by underestimating Ava and Kelly was easy to hit very early on.
He is a real talent but does not have the power to go with his style which means he will get dragged into deep water by top fighters.
Still lots of good fights out there for him

 

He's the opposite to Froch. Got the talent but not the toughness and stamina in a dog fight

 

Ava isn't elite level but he's probably at a level that Kelly will never get to as long as he keeps his gloves down and sticks his chin out whilst bouncing around like a malfunctioning Duracell bunny.

 

Thanks for taking the time to type it, appreciated. I told Joshua that he was talking down his nose to me not you bud. I have no problem with your posts on this thread (nor on any others). You're a good poster, i just think we have a slight difference of opinion. My opinion is just that if everyone who's someone in boxing gives him air time then I'll presume he's now legit and no longer involved in drug dealing etc. Perhaps he shouldn't be allowed a career in the sport but I'll leave that to the people in the sport.

@Joshua , I won't forget you calling me dumb but for now there's no point continuing this. I'll let the thread get back on track.

 

I totally missed that. I've just re-read some of the posts again and noticed that Joshua has insulted you a couple of times. Maybe some of the issues are dear to him, but of course that's never the best way to get your point across. To the British section's credit, as opposed to other sports forums I've been on over the years, that people generally get along in good humour despite inevitable differences in character or opinion and that's what makes it such a good forum. Because of that I often just sit and read the posts without interacting, it's remarkable how much you can learn just from other fans' back and forth. Cheers.

 

As a serial banned poster myself who knows, try to rise above any stick mate as the forum justice can be swift and merciless on here.

@Joshua most on here agree with your views on drug dealers but Peter Fury is in the sport and people will discuss his qualities as a trainer.

Ava beating Kelly was a bit like Steve Collins beating eubank. Sure Kelly has super skills and Ava is crude etc. But this is prizefighting, the hurt business, and tougher hungrier guys can and do sometimes prevail in long hard fights. Ava is fit tough awkward keeps trying and throwing with both hands. Sometimes that’s enough. He was a a nightmare if you can’t boss him.

 

What's the forum's policy for banning? I don't ever see any moderators around in here but people get banned. Some people get banned for a week and others seem to be banned for good.

Where's that Tony Hayers bloke these days? Is he gone?

You must be very upset about Daniel and the rest of the Kinahans and MTK bring involved in boxing so. If you think the Fury crowd are the great Satan, check out what the press say about the Kinahans. The Kinahans would keep your man Fury as a pet. They've got more bodies under em than a Chinese cemetery. If you're gonna get all sniffy and high moral grounded try the Kinahans. Maybe then you'll have something to be really upset about.

The guy has all the talent in the world. I'd say it was more an exposing of Adam Booth who couldn't prepare him correctly in terms of cardio or the correct sparring and work in the gym with about two years or prep time
