I can't think of any era that had as many fulfilled and unfulfilled dream fights as the mw era 1987-1991.....u only need to say the name of a guy like a roldan or barkley who fought the toughest names...and still be like...what about roldan-sibson....or benn....or barkley- Jackson.....you could literally come up with 50 such dream fights that never happened in fact I think ill start a thread on that tomorrow

Looking forward to it my friend. Was Tito Lectoure the cornerman who threw in the towel, he managed many Argentine fighters, especially Carlos Monzon.

I believe so Richard theres a great link to it there...very well written story.....

I'd qualify my slightly crude earlier remark about brave cornermen by saying I think tito was just frustrated in the heat of the moment as he just wanted roldan to win so badly was willing him kn ...he broke his own hand punching a wall in frustration out of empathy for roldan losing.......but the fact remains roldan fought 7 rounds with a bad thumbed eye injury....he was teak tough....7 more rounds like that against a master like hagler with an eye injury like that risking permanent damage...thats tough

I had no idea that Juan Roldan had passed away. May he rest in peace.

Roldan was one of the most physically strongest middleweights of the 80's. It would be foolish if Duran decided to trade with Roldan, if Duran fights at a distance then he will win by UD.

Duran would be too much for him. Much better movement, defense and ring IQ.

Since when does Duran have a defense, he leads with his chin.

He thinks defence is something you builds around dehouse. Rarely dodged, blocked or parried a punch in his life.

If it walks like a duck and looks like duck, it must be a turkey, is that right?
