The guy is never out of shape He never has any issues outside of the ring(you would have to dig back years) outside of the clen situation He fights top contenders or world champions He improves every fight and is dedicated to his craft Why do people slam him so much? his skill level is clear and he is tough as nails and has unified titles in 3 divisions (154,160,175)
The top fighters in the world are always disrespected by some people it has been going on for years same thing happened to Mayweather, Pacquiao, Ward, Klitchko, Loma, GGG the list goes on I wouldn't let it bother you.
On the 1% chance this isn’t a troll thread: - Multiple failed PED tests - Blamed said tests on tainted beef - Beneficiary of some ridiculous cards against GGG, Floyd, Lara, Cotto, Trout. - Ducked GGG by dropping the WBC belt - Demanded catchweights while being a champ at 160
I’m not a supoorter nor a detractor. I think his improvements have been impressive. From JMW-LHW. He has gotten better as he goes. He is adaptable. He is a thorough, well-schooled practitioner of the pugilistic arts. That said, he is disrespected because (in no particular order): He was busted, positive tor PEDs. He has had to bear the A side curse in a few too many fights. He won’t give GGG a 3rd fight, after getting a lucky draw and a lucky win. Has repeatedly exhibited diva-like behavior with fight demands.
The failed PED tests were from trace amounts of clenbuterol, a substance recognized by WADA to be in large % of meat in Mexico. What he "failed" for isn't even considered a failed test today due to the meat contamination problem. That is a matter of opinion, and practically any remotely close scorecard these days is debated and seen as controversial. WBC gave Canelo a 15-day timetable to agree to terms following his win over Amir Khan. This shows that the WBC was treating him unfairly and not allowing him a reasonable amount of time to neogitate the fight with GGG. This is flatly untrue. He never "demanded" catchweights while being a champ at 160. He only defended that tile once - against Amir Khan. And it was Khan who "demanded" the fight be at the lowest possible weight. Khan refused to fight him at 160, so Canelo gave in to Khan's demands and fought him at 155. It was Cotto who "demanded" catchweights while being a champ at 160.
Ohh stfu Canelo was hated before busted, and peds don't give you skills, if they would i would've been a atg already
''He fights top contenders or world champions'' Only sometimes and only with advantages. And it's also forced by the contracts he is on, in other words demanded by his financiers if they're going to pay him obscene money and want people to buy the PPV. Let's not pretend he wouldn't love to just KO Khan every few months if he could get the same money. At 160: He ducked GGG multiple times to fight Khan/Chavez Jr. Destroys the idea he always seeks the best opponent. Above 160: Before Smith, he fought Rocky Fielding (drained) and Kovalev (short turned around, drained, on the slide) for the 168/175 belts and avoided the most dangerous guys there. Also destroys the idea he always fights the best. Add his highly suspect body changes combined with PED busting, attempts to drain opponents, blatant home advantage every fight ... The real question is, how could you not have a problem with Canelo if you have any integrity at all?
He is the new mayweather. people will look for any excuse to hate on him and will tune in hoping to see him lose, it serves him well since he is the biggest cash cow. he only had two generous decisions, the lara fight and the bogus mayweather cj ross card. dont even get me started on the clenbuterol nonsense
