Great study proving AJ is far more than just a body builder and explains why he hits so hard, is AJ underrated? I have also criticised him in the past. Videos Anthony Joshua's Ingenious Boxing Explained - Technique ... YouTube ·
AJ has polished and high level technique, but I don't think it reaches the level of Wlad or Fury, and I don't think I would describe it as "ingenious" -- "ingenious" I would reserve more for Loma or Floyd. Comparing AJ to other heavyweights, Wlad was a better technician with faster feet, and Fury has more natural grace that lets him move like a man half his size. AJ is a top boxer, but he's just too slow and robotic. His technique is very boilerplate.
I like Aj but i agree. He's just too easy to read. The only way he can beat Fury is if he breaks Fury down with Body Shots and gets agressive in spots. Besides that he only has a punchers chance
He is not a bad boxer, but lewis, vitali, wlad, fury were / are better , so I think there’s nothing ingenious about his style considering he looked like crap against pulev and there’s nothing impressive in outboxing ruiz.
Well, Joseph Parker barely did it. Plus Ruiz pummeled Joshua in the first meeting. Yes, yes...Ruiz was grossly overweight for the rematch. Well, how many expected Joshua to be able to keep his composure like that? Many said that even if Joshua ran from Ruiz, he did not have the stamina to do so for 12 rounds. Joshua proved them wrong, yet no one seems to admit so. I think it´s fairly impressive to dominate an opponent who just 6 months prior absolutely destroyed you.
dude he outpointed ruiz s , that was no domination. I just imagined if that was prime Haye and not Ruiz , juiceshua would have been KTFO.
How many rounds did he loose? Id say it was a fairly dominant performance from Joshua. Ruiz barely landed anything meaningful in 12 rounds.
domination is when you finish your opponent in style , or beat him to pulp, but if he is still chasing you in 12th and you have to run , that’s not domination.
Joshua won’t make it 12 with his gas tank an nerves against Fury. I think on top of that fury will look to make a statement late if he can, turn it on late
AJ is obviously super good. He's more well rounded than Wlad was. But Wlad had a better jab and mastered his jab and grab style for over a decade.
Yes, I think AJ has been very underrated by some on this board, you included, in terms of his technique. I think he's very accomplished technically for someone his size.
