huh you said your rarely wrong which i assumed you were kidding so jokingly hit you up for some picks on fights nvm tho
Broner has some potential. But sadly in Broner's mind he already reached the top of the mountain (the next Mayweather or Pac) during his time at 135. PPV superstar. When he is fighting, It's almost as if during each round he admires his work far more than the opponents, regardless of how much they land. He lands one counter, rotates his hand as he is pulling back and his head grows bigger. Then he gives himself an imaginary pat on the back. It's frustrating to watch him because anyone can see he never gives it his all (excluding the Maidana fight). To make matters worst, he spent his career trying to emulate his idol instead of using his own strength, and hiding his own weaknesses. He fights on cruise control, and in his mind he is always winning. He balloons in between fights, hasn't really improved over the last 10 or so years. Over the last few he has regressed. A good trainer that could get through to him and make him listen, follow instructions. Show him some really tough love, hard truths and you'd be looking at a different Broner today. 135/140 top 7 for the last decade. But in the end, only Broner can help himself. And he lacks the discipline to do so.
This content is protected It was the 12th. I remembered it being earlier. Man, what a fight that was! Maidana scores the KD in the 9th. Broner stands his ground in the 10th. Broner then walks down Maidana in the 11th but Maidana rallies back in the closing minute. And then the 12th. Great ****ing fight.
Well he fked up Demarco who beat Linares (granted I still think Linares is the better fighter) and we know where Linares stands with Loma. So that’s probably the only reference point we have. I also can’t recall on who had the more impressive win over demarco, Valero or broner?
Only time he hurt Maidana was with an illegal punch after the bell which had lingering effects. No need to search a whole pea in the mush of performance that Broner gave.
I know people hate Broner but quite frankly, he has elite handspeed (when he throws), footspeed (when he moves), defense (he covers and parries well, he doesn't get hit clean a lot), chin (self explanatory) and above average power (he hurts and drops normally durable people, even if he doesn't stop them). His problem is the same as Gamboa, he wanted to eat and obese his way out of his best/proper weight class. He's also too lazy in the ring. Also the outside influences (that's another matter)............Had Broner never left SFW or even LW, he'd be Hell for damn near everyone at those respective weight classes. It's fairly obvious however Broner is not going to achieve what he had the potential to..............he's a cautionary tale to all fighters that wanna **** away their money, not train, live like a rock/trapstar, and don't keep quality people around him. As for getting knocked out: Broner ain't gonna get knocked out by anyone, his past beatings should've already made that clear to you.
Broner’s problems are his attitude, his wanting to be Floyd when starting out, his portrayal in the media as being the bad guy, and quite honestly his all around **** attitude. He wants to be a thug and when all is said is done he’ll end up right where he wants to be except later in life he’ll be regretting all of it.
Broner only looked good when opponents allowed him to dictate pace and space. Madiana didn't allow AB to do that and promptly whooped his ass. He was reduced to a pot shooting, low output fighter after that.
Broner is not and never was elite. He looked great at the lower weights, but who did he beat? Easy to look spectacular against C level opposition. So he has fast hands and feet. He has a good chin. All of that is nullified due to his bad attitude, which in turn, negates his elite talents. When you speak of elite, you are talking the best of the best. Broner was never put in the top echelon of the sport. Was he ever on the top 10 P4P list?
He actually made it to 5 on the Ring P4P list, but it got ridiculed by most of the Ring staff and boxing websites. Turned out that the Ring P4P rankings were published by a single individual at the time, not the Ring rankings board.
Yep I honestly hate when people say he has so much potential... Yeah.. So does everyone, Broner is shite and has never impressed me
Here we go people still banging on about him being elite... He was not elite by any standards or criteria. He has very good handspeed and that's it, he has a chin because he weight bullied the smaller weight divisions most of his career (aka he doesn't have a chin) . He's absolute trash. Anyone can have good defence if they don't look to work off that defence and counter /throw punches at least
Point to where I said he was elite......................I'll wait............. elite attributes =/= elite. As a matter of fact..... I've gone out of my way in the past to distinguish that he's not elite............. Don't attempt to indict me regarding something I've never said or suggested.
