More ingenious than just relying on athleticism like his opponents did.

OMG! He does have good power and his power shots would stop most heavyweights active in today`s fight game, the only heavyweight that punches harder than him right now is Wilder.

AJ didn`t land much either, other than some good combo`s in spurts.

Fury offensive skills aren`t as good as his defensive skills, he`s fairly basic but has good handspeed.

His power is ok but not wilder or even Tekin level

He would stop Tekin with ease.

It's quite ridiculous how anyone can think his just muscles. The guy clearly can box and has skills. They may not be the most elite the world has ever seen but the idea his just just some big guy with heavy hands is laughable.

So... Floyd did not dominate Berto?
    And Toney dominated Nunn, huh?

I am just going by what the actual definition of the word is. I guess dominate sounds a lot stronger than was the case in the Ruiz-Joshua rematch. But fact is that Joshua was in complete control that night and completely shut Ruiz down.

Bowe is the only of a similar size I can think of that I consider that good an overall technician.

Of the other big champions Wlad was very effective at what he was doing and had a very nice straight right and lead left hook, but that was about it. His defence consisted of leaning back and grabbing and his mid-range game was all but non-existent. He was forced to develop his punch and grab style because he didn't have the defence to risk straight out exchanges.

Lewis was similar, but with a better jab and also a dangerous uppercut. But like Wlad, his defence was largely keeping opponents at range and grabbing them when they came close.

Vitaly had pretty good defensive footwork and cut angles quite well, but his punches lacked proper leverage and he also didn't have much in terms of fundamental defence. Mostly leaned back and trusted his range control.

Fury also lacks proper leverage in a lot of his punches, but has a really good jab and great foot work and head movement for such big guy. His mid-range game isn't that much, though, and at least against Wallin he came in with his really low on the inside, which indicates that he's really not comfortable at that range.

AJ can actually slip and counter and catch and counter quite well, unlike any of the above guys. He also have a full repertoire of punches that he puts together well in combinations (also something you rarely see/saw from the above guys) and is good at mid-range. So in terms of technique I'd have him more on level with Bowe, but technique of course isn't everything. Lewis and, especially, Wlad improved their effectiveness by limiting their use of tools and thereby reducing risk.

Floyd landed far more punches v Berto than AJ did and stood in the pocket more too, however AJ won far more rounds v Ruiz than Toney did before catching Nunn, however to dominate he would have had to land the same amount of shots Toney landed on Nunn and he simply didn`t throw as many as Toney did due to all his evasive movement.
