MTK stands for Mack the Knife, doesn't it? I think I've heard it confirmed via IFL TV years ago. Strange name for a company. Mack the Knife, the character from the play or song, is notorious for murder, r8pe, theft and all of that sort of stuff I think.
Football fans are a totally different beast to Boxing; They’ll encounter much more scrutiny from both supporters and journalists alike.
You're right. That completely passed me by. I hadn't thought of that. Well, that at least explains its usage as far as the company goes. I'd argue that it's an odd nickname for a boxer, if you look past it at the most superficial of levels as a catchy nickname. But that's right, good call!
If you hadn’t worked it out as well, their previous name of MGM was an initialism of Macklin Gym Marbella. They became MTK when Kinahan ‘left’ the business a few years back.
Yes. I had actually forgotten that it was Macklin's Gym Marbella until I watched that BBC documentary. When did it begin? Must be going back 5 or so years now.
