@Pimp C So is Deontay one of the hardest hitters in boxing history, even though his resume is actually worse than 3G's? Care to try to answer that w/o throwing in some nonsensical word salad?

If you're interested in facts and the sport of boxing and not just sucking off GGG then accept that you're completely wrong.

Golovkin rejected a fight with Saunders, it was well publicized. GGG did not want to "risk" losing before the Canelo rematch.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/b...rs-talks-Gennady-Golovkin-September-bout.html

I don't know. Perhaps you may want to ask Al Haymon or whoever runs Charlo's career.

    https://www.fightsports.tv/charlo-rejected-lucrative-offer-to-fight-canelo/

    https://www.boxingnews24.com/2020/0...had-chance-to-fight-canelo-alvarez-last-year/

Yeah, that guy, one of the MW champions who holds the WBO title in the division Golovkin would not leave because he wants to unify all four belts like Hopkins. Yes he had a competitive fight against Vanes 8 years ago... Okay, guess who has been blown away by lesser fighters but was competitive against Golovkin? Ouma. Styles make fights, and just because a certain fighter struggled in one of his fights, its not an excuse not to fight him. I mean, Derevyanchenko went life and death with Culcay, but Golovkin eventually ended up fighting him. Actually I think the only reason why GGG finally agreed to fight Derevyanchnko was because he first lost to Jacobs and then struggled with Culcay.

So Golovkin is never fighting top fighters until he fights Canelo? You're a fan of that kind of career? As a boxing fan I hate that with a passion. That kind of business is what is wrong with boxing.

Both Martinez' and Cotto's legacies were intact, defined, and set in stone when GGG was chasing them.

Its funny how GGG fans have gone as far as calling them cowards, business men, duckers, for doing exactly the same thing GGG has done by not fighting the MW elites. Funny isn't it?

I don't know who would win tbh, but I will tell you this. Duran is much better than Canelo, Jacobs, and Derevyanchenko, fighters who GGG struggled with. Duran is a total ****ing legend, and he had enough power at MW to keep fighters honest. His skill level and talent is top 5 in the entire history of boxing... Golovkin who many of his supporters and GGG himself claim is a small MW will be lucky to make it into the BHoF.

I get that this forum leans heavily towards Golovkin, and he wins almost every fantasy match. We seen GGG beat Hagler, Hopkins, Leonard, even Robisnon in fantasy mtachups. We seen GGG beat Povetkin, and KO HWs in fantasy matchups. We have seen GGG beating everyone under 200 lbs in fantasy matchups. But we're talking real world not boxingforum24.

WW Kell Brook lit up GGG... How much better is Duran than Kell Brook? Canelo, Jacobs, Chenko took GGG to deep waters... Duran would be the CLEAR favorite. There are levels to this in real life. I know this is boxingforum24, but lets talk about reality not nuthuggery.

Lance, I watch boxing to see the best compete against the best, not to see top guys continuously fight no hopers and avoid top fighters or make business decisions a bigger priority than legacy defining decisions. Golovkin is not the only fighter I have stop being a fan of. I stopped following Mikey Garcia, Abner Mares, and Leo Santacruz, even though I just met Santacruz at walmart a month or so ago and was a really cool dude.

3G was not ducked for years. That is a myth. The only fighter to truly duck him was Sturm. Cotto and Martinez had better options, higher rated or more lucrative opponents and were at the very tail end of their careers when Golovkin was chasing after them.

Golovkin has said through the years that he would fight anyone between 154-168. Well, he had the opportunity to fight Andrade, Trout, Lara, Saunders, Jacobs rematch, Charlo, Ward, and Gilberto Ramirez, but he refused.

RJJ was a JrMW at one point and won at HW.
Pacquiao was a Flyweight at one point and won at JrMW.
Duarn was a lightweight at one point and would likely beat Golovkin.

Three legends beating three HoFers is what I see.

Kell Brook who is not even 1/20th of what Duran was who is a top 5 ATG was able to lift GGG off his feet, Duran with all his skills and talent that has made him a top 5 legend in the ENTIRE history of boxing would embarrass GGG. You guys are too funny.

You're just a delusional fanboy.... it's common knowledge 3G was ducked. And you saying HE REFUSED means nothing. You're a brainless hater. That's been well established.

Heavyweights are different altogether. They are big men who if they land clean can knock out anybody. You cant compare heavyweights with other weight classes. This has been long established.

No, that's not what you were saying. 3G has overrated power because he hasn't KO's any ATG, in comparison to other ATG's. And neither has Deontay. Big difference is, ONE OF THEM fights guys his size, the other towers over 95% of his opponents. I knew you would try to spin in to some BS answer.

Whoever said you can't compare HW's facing HW's to other weight classes?? There is no reason for this so-called rule.

This is quite disingenuous. First of all, Jones was never a JMW, he was a WW. He fought while weighing 154 once in his entire career, and it was for a MW ranking. Pacquiao may have won a title at flyweight, but please don't tell me that at 19 and starving, that was his prime weight. Duran wasn't just "at one point" a lightweight. He spent eight years there. It was his natural weight, unlike your claims about Pacquiao and Jones. If we go down the route of your "at one point" logic, Duran vs Golovkin wouldn't be a lightweight vs vs a super-middleweight. Because Duran started at 122, or more accurately, about 119lbs. Pacquiao and Jones didn't have careers at 154/HW. They had one off fights. Nobody picks them over very good, to great JMWs or HWs. The difference here is that Duran had an extended stay at 160.... do you know what he accomplished there?A close win over Barkley, and a clear loss to Hagler. Not to mention a loss to Robbie Sims, and should-be loss vs Jeff Lanas.

Absolutely magnificent stuff. I'm sure GGG is quaking in his boots.

You see three legends beating three hall of famers? Margarito and Ruiz are hall of famers? Are a broken down, past-it Margarito, and John Ruiz actually comparable to Prime Golovkin?

Kell Brook enjoyed about two minutes success vs Golovkin and then had his face reshaped and his career ruined. I fail to see what relevance he has here, given not only did have a miniscule amount of success, he was much, much bigger than Duran and fought nothing like him.

What's this whole "you guys are too funny" thing all about? I prefer Duran, I think GGG is wildly overrated. Please don't lump me in with this crowd. But anyway, let's get this straight. You think that because I don't think that someone who couldn't beat Robbie Sims and would be at weight deficit of likely more than 20lbs would 'embarrass'GGG, that I'm the joker?

    Right...

There's no rule about it. Discussed in what context? It's about WHO you beat that says you have power, which is your argument in this whole thing. And since Deontay has garbage for a resume, must mean his power is overrated. YOUR logic Pimp. You can't have it both way based on your silly hatred of one guy.

You aren't worth a proper rebuttal poser. Never were. You're just a casual fanboy thinks he likes boxing. You like boxers. And so you were never anyone to take serious.

You pretend to have been a 3G fan, as if that makes what you say about him have some credence. And you claim 3G was never ducked by anyone. You're a tool...

Ggg is a accumulation puncher he's not a 1 shot ko artist. His power is grossly overrated when you compare him to big punchers. The hw division is different for reasons I mentioned earlier. Wilder has big power and is a one shot ko artist, he did nearly stop fury in their 1st fight. His lack of skill prevented him from finding fury regularly with his power shots, if he had the skill level of a ggg he would've been able to land more frequently and he would've killed fury. With that said I would have no arguments if someone said his power was overrated in comparison to other heavyweights.
