Probably not in my lifetime but when they show up they will storm the division. If you could tap into all the human potential available we'd find that person pretty fast. Really all Fury really lacks is raw power. Give him that it would be scary, that would be the next leap in physical evolution, Fury bringing stamina and movement for a big man was the newest step. Kind of why heavyweight is so highly regarded, the evolution is clear as day. Have to be wary though...Fury had to develop these traits. Years of hard graft, some who look like they don't have it evidently do have it.
Well, the op lists it as one of the upcoming fights this year and the last sentence of the post was "looks top notch to me".
I love a domestic, i really do and thats its selling point But id have to question it being a top fight worldwide
I mean I agree entirely that a fight can be good for a variety of reasons. Pointing to this kind of matchup to substantiate the claim that this is a good era of heavyweights is where I disagree
I absolutely remember real time people thinking the 90s were a poor heavy division. People were critical to things like Ruddock had washed out, Bowe had his short prime, Holyfield was up and down, the Tyson show and all that came with that, Golota was a headcase, Mercer was unmotivated, Hide was china chinned, Seldon was suspected of a dive then disappeared, McCall was a headcase, Akinwande was a head case, Morrison was never really that good, how can it be strong if Seldon, Bruno, old Foreman and a china chinned blown up Moorer win title? Etc etc etc. Lewis was a bright spot but again he was KOd by McCall in the mid 90s so people saw him as suspect until he proved himself again.
except some of the top ten are remnants from their era who were beat by Klitschko and a lot of the top ten are old 35+ or a cruiser who is untested at heavy... outside of Fury-Joshua this is a weak division.
