Yeah I didn’t think either of those were cherry picks myself

Mathew Saad Muhammad tried to get his career back on track after losing to Qawi and took on some soft touches which backfired. But I think In fairness the beatings he took from Dwight ruined him.

This wasn't cherry picking. The Heavyweight Division was being ruled by a 3 headed monster that consisted of Wilder, Fury and Joshua. This is NOT a cherry pick. This was a fight towards unification.

I thought that post was pretty strange myself. How in the hell is a unification between the #1 and #2 combatants cherry picking ???

Jim Wick’s, ‘enery Cooper’s manager, calculated that Floyd Patterson was beyond repair, following his severe back injury defeat to Ali.
“It’ll look good on ‘enery’s record, the “Bishop” said at the time.
What did look good was Coop, in his own Wembley backyard, kayoed, not a cut in sight, in the fourth.

I remember Lehlohonolo "Hands of Stone" Ledwaba kicking ass at super bantamweight. His sixth defence of his IBF title was against some no-name brand Filipino called Pacquiao who had already been knocked out twice. What could go wrong?

Pacquiao was top ten in the division for two straight years and had beaten Nedal Hussain. That's nonsense.

If anything, Hussain had the cherry pick gone wrong.

I remember people expecting Ledwaba to dispose of Pacquiao. The announcers could barely pronounce his name.

Aren’t you from SA? Ledwaba wasn’t well known in the US. It was more of a small upset to Americans.

A fight towards unification??? Wilder could have fought AJ TWICE in an ACTUAL unification fight. He even said it was a mistake not to take those fights now.

Fury was the undefeated lineal champion. It was a unification fight any way you slice it. Negotiations aren't always smooth with different promoters, networks, etc. But make no mistake, it wasn't a cherry pick fight.
