If this was in the UK, would I want to watch a card with a load of ****s from youtube parading as boxers, just to see one or maybe two legitimate fights? No I wouldnt. Would I want to pay £20 towards it, absolutely not. I dont think many boxing fans will tune in to watch the actual boxing fights because of the other circus acts. I would pay a score to see some of these youtubers get run over by a Ford Transit van doing 60mph though.
Massive bid and I think that shows a lot of inexperience on their side. They probably knew that Bob given his interviews recently wasn’t paying top dollar, Eddie would be around that level and it looks as though Triller have overpaid by £1-2million quid! There seems to be a lot of friction between Lopez and Bob at the moment, Bob did an interview after the bids saying if Teo expects the same money from him he’s sadly going to be mistaken and waiting on the sidelines for a while. Also said if that’s what he expects another promotional outfit is welcome to “buy” Lopez’s contract. I personally think Bob will be looking to get those belts off Lopez quickly. Maybe he’ll throw money at him one last time to give Loma a chance to win them back. Final point is that for a novelty youtuber kind of card its such a weird fight to choose. Like has been mentioned quite a few boxing fans will boycott it for that reason and just try and watch the fight on replay or stream. Triller could have just paid for a minor title fight like a WBA regular or something **** like that and got the same amount of viewers for £5m less
You have to be happy for Kambosos, Lopez could and probably will end up getting some very big paydays. But Kambosos has basically just hit the jackpot.
Agree with your points. Its a massive overspend on their part. If they were going down this route, I would have expected them to try and get Ryan Garcia on the platform. I heard a few rumours floating around that Loma also isnt too happy under Bob and has had some discussions with other promoters regarding his options. Would not be suprised to see Loma move over to Matchroom in the not too distant future.
Deserved as well, I’ve followed him for a few years and really like the lad. Can’t see him beating Teo but he’ll give it a good go.
Seeing all Arum's comments before and after this and he comes across as a horrible old c##t! Deserved for Lopez after the huge Loma win. And I think he deals with this one inside the distance -- Kambosos will try to fight fire with fire and get stopped IMO.
Yeah and I hope he gives a great account of himself, I think he'll have a lot of support, Teo rubs a lot of people up the wrong way so I can see him being a very well supported underdog and let's be honest.. he has zero to lose here. And we've seen many upsets throughout this pandemic, i personally don't think this will be one but you just never know.
Yeah I agree. Can’t knock what Arum has done in boxing but he’s a right bitter pr!ck when things don’t go his way.
That’s not a good look is it, showing the proper shady dealings behind the scenes, “Todd is making a fair point. He is doing us a big favour on the Canelo fight....” dodgy ****ers. They know what they’re doing and are happy to clash events when everyone isn’t being all cozy together. Yeah I can’t see Kambosos winning but i like him and I think he’s a good boxer to watch. He’s a top 10 lightweight at this time and i think he can hang at the top level but Teo is very very good and I expect him to be pushed here but clearly win.
