Who had the weakest chins in heavyweight boxing world title fight history?

Right. Even guys Bruno beat deserve to go on before him. Carl Williams deserves to go on before Bruno and he didn't even make my list. Carl was dropped by Quick Tillis a couple times, dropped by Jerry Jones a couple times, dropped by Jesse Ferguson, by Marion Wilson, Mike Weaver, Tyson, Bruno, Morrison ... stopped by Zolkin. Maybe he should've?

Bruno shouldn't be on anywhere near a list like this. Too many others.

 

Herbie Hide by far. He was dropped and left severely weakened - effectively finished - by a clash of heads against Riddick 'Chicken' Bowe.

I think Buster Douglas had a weak chin

No man goes 10 rounds with Tyson, and beats him with a weak chin.

 

That fight was basically a one sided ass beating...other than the knockdown...which has you know was a body shot...so you can’t judge his chin from that

The KD was not from a body shot. It was a clean uppercut, and Douglas did well to get up. That shot would've kept a lesser fighter down from the count, as would numerous other shots he took during the entirety of the bout.

 

I seem to remember it hitting him more on the chest ...but i haven’t watched it in years...it’s hard for me to watch ( I’m a Tyson fan )

 

Let me ask you this...do you think Douglas quit against Evander Holyfield?

 

Douglas could be dropped, but all time bad list for chins? The Tucker and Holy fight he gave up when things got too uncomfortable (been a while since ive seen the Tucker fight so maybe im misremembering). Mentality and motivation were Douglas' big problems (along with that bad habbit of throwing that uppercut from too far out). Savarese im not counting as that was well after Buster's best days were behind him.

Yes. This was not the same Douglas who fought Tyson nor even the same Douglas who quit against Tucker. He didn't train at all. and came in at I believe the highest weight of his career up to that point. I remember reading a while ago, that his manager was concerned because Douglas was not training at all and had gained a considerable amount of weight, so he offered Douglas private use of the sauna in an attempt to help curb Douglas's weight loss, only to find out Douglas ordered $100 worth of room service to the sauna. He was according to multiple people who saw him, closer to 280 pre-camp and managed to get down to 246.

And regarding the end, Douglas seemingly deliberately telegraphed the uppercut. He looked like he wanted to get countered with the straight right. He didn't look particularly hurt when he was knocked down. He wiped his face, then rolled back down. The uppercut he was hit with against Tyson was definitely much more threatening.
