Guys I'd like some examples of men who were dominant in multiple original 8 weight classes.

Pacquiao, DLH, Duran, Hearns (dont know for sure dominant at 147 and 157, but 160 ehhhh), Mayweather, SRR, etc.

I'm not too well versed on Batamweight and and Flyweight so help me out there.

But it seems that it's relatively common for guys to be dominant at FW and LW. Or LW and WW. And occasionally WW and MW, but once you jump from 147 to 160 its starts to get really damn hard to jump up in weight.

Probably has something to do with the shift in fight dynamics. Once you get to about 154 or 160 pounds you start dealing with men who have enough natural size that the power starts to get freaky at the highest levels of the weight class.

Hagler and GGG for example wouldnt DARE try their luck at 175. Ain't no ****ing chance in hell either of them would want a piece of prime versions Bob Foster, Kovalev or Beterbiev. You know it and I know it. And as for Foster himself he tried to jump from LHW to HW but was totally overwhelmed by the size and strength of natural HWs. And as dominant and powerful and strong Beterbiev and Kovalev were in their respective peaks I dont fancy their chances much at CW (give beterviev more chance cuz hes physically stronger) let alone HW.

True. Henry Armstrong maxed out at 147 though and wasnt as dominant at 147 either. 160 seems to be the tipping point where fighters are generally like **** moving up and cant cope with the size and strength.

He has the most consecutive welterweight title defenses in history. That's pretty dominant.

I agree with your premise tinman. The one caveat being, in the modern era, PEDs have made it more doable to move up in weight than before.

True but he looked way more vulnerable at that weight too.
