Lol. I'm not one of these that build a marvel comic style Tua, that's deadly as the Hulk, but I do think against the less experienced Wlad he may have stood a chance. A little like John Ruiz, who went on to learn from his ko loss to the Tua man.
To Wlad? Absolutely. I could see Wlad hammering away at Tua for 7-8 rounds gaining a seemingly insurmountable lead. Then, he starts to gas out a bit, and, Tua flattens him. Honestly, it is the most likely scenario. In spite of his plodding nature, Tua carried his power late. And, it would only take one of those left hooks to wreck Wlad.
On the night he fought Ibeabuci, he was like a super-charged Brewster. Based on that alone you'd have to give him a chance.
Pre-Steward, absolutely, quite dangerous if not a Tua being an outright favorite to KO him. Then, increasingly less so from year to year, until virtually hopeless by the peak of Wlad's reign.
Yes. The sanders Wlad or even worse the Purity Wlad. Tua had a lot of power, sharp left hook and the chin to force his way to the inside.
The Sam Peter struggles say logically and realistically that any Wlad could get slept by Tua. Could Wlad beat Tua using the octopus grab , sure.. In a real fight? Unknown. Wlad wasn't like Lewis. He didn't have the same type of jab or inside game to keep Tua outside the connect zone https://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/09/steward-was-telling-wladimir-to-stop-clinching-peter/
Absolutely, yes, Tua would have been a very dangerous fight for Vlad, because he had a great chin, and maintained his power late into fights. Vlad was known for tiring. So even if Vlad badly outboxed him early, at some point Tua might have gotten close and nailed a fatiguing Vlad and taken him out. It would not have been out of the question. We will never know.
Wlad would be sharp for Tua at any point of his career and get an effortless decision. Tua lacks the physical attributes and skillset to trouble Wlad, and he wouldn't be underestimated. Maybe if Tua was a hard nosed swarmer like Brewster...and not a turtle that took an entire fight to overwhelm the fragile Oleg. Maybe Tua gets a good cheap shot in after the bell, like he did Rahman after getting his ears boxed off.. Otherwise, no chance for Tua here.
