Does a sparring match ever have any bearing on how an actual fight between two fighters would go down in the same two fighters sparring met in a real match up?

Just more proof of Clays condescending arrogance. What grown man takes his shirt off and spars with a kid nearly a hundred pounds lighter than him?.
Can you imagine AJ or Klitschko stooping so low as to spar with Canelo or Floyd?

Floyd never knocked out a light-heavy and AJ and Klit never fought at light heavy as amateurs nor do they have the same reach as Hearns like Ali did, Ali was alot smaller than AJ and Wlad are.

There are many examples of spars influencing the outcome of a fight. One that springs to mind is Tony Sibson being released as a partner for Alan Minter before Minter's rematch with Vito Antuofermo.
Apparently Sibbo was giving Alan too much trouble. We know the rest.

It`s also been stated that Minter sparred with a young Herol Graham who bragged that Minter couldn`t land a punch on him even if his hands were tie behind his back and that lan calls his bluff and in fact couldn`t hit Graham with a bag of rice the whole session.

I remember actually seeing the BBC Brass Tacks documentary with Brendan Ingle and Herol going into pubs in Sheffield and charging punters a Fiver to hit Graham with his hands behind his back.
Pat Cowdell and Maurice Hope were the other Boxers featured. A World Champion, a European Champion and an up and comer. I don't think I've ever seen a better documentary on the realities of the sport in Britain and it was made in 1981/2.
Minter did probably use Graham, then a Light Middle, for speed work and possibly wished he hadn't.
Jack Bodell always said he rumbled Joe Bugner when he hired him as a spar when Joe was a teenager.

Hearns hadn`t developed his punch by that stage, Steward worked on his body mechanics, he would have destroyed Pryor at welter.
