Yeah....I totally get it. A crap HW division and very few big fights getting made is making all this harder to stomach. No, not a problem. I appreciate the honesty.

So long as TC and ESjr continue to diva themselves, we'll never have a consensus #1 at 147. But Pac is the linear WW champ I suppose. I just think this might be a good scrap. I think Mikey winning the WBA belt from Pac might at least make things more interesting. Still, I don't care to see Mikey at WW when he can do better lower.

 

How did Kovalev, Jacobs, Fielding, Daniels, Smith, and Yildirum look before Clenelo fought them? How about Saunders and Plant, both guys Clenelo are fighting next.

5 years ago, this was an easy Pac win. Now, we have to consider that Pac squeezed past the overrated Thurman and is well past his prime at this point. Mikey might take this on activity if he has the courage to trade, he's not going to beat Pac by staying on the outside.

Pac is just levels above Mikey.

Pac has better skills, a better counterpuncher, hits harder, probably harder chin (based on fighting bigger opponents), faster hands, feet, better timing.

Mikeys best win is Broner and maybe Lipinets, or is it Vargas?

Pac would have to come in shot to the core to lose IMO.

Mikey is a good fighter, but Thurman that Pac just beat would have dominated him. So would have Bradley, JMM, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, heck Horn has a chance given his sheer size.

It’s not the size difference either, they’re the same sized guys, Pac is a LW competing at WW. He was the same size as Kambosos when they were sparring.

 

naah. mikey is a better all around better boxer than pac. but pac has all the intangibles. he also has the speed of legs to trouble a textbook fighter like mikey. power is about the same, but pacs punches are harder to predict or see coming.
mikeys advantage is that hes got an answer to everything pac brings, as long as pac comes to him.
i think endurance will be a factor in the fight, causing pac to start to getting caught more frequently past the 7th. mikey is very economical in his movement once he measures range, doesnt waste energy moving more than he has to. he is also always calm, which burns much less energy.
people get the wrong idea about mikey because of the spence fight. but just like floyd vs marquez, the result didnt mean marquez couldnt fight. they just couldnt beat those legs. but put them in with another top fighter with a complimentary style, and theyll make some great fights.

 

Pac always has problems with top quality Mexican boxers. Mikey is no Morales or a Marquez or anything like that but was a champion or was and can probably give Pac problems and surprise a few people. Manny has no problems with slicks but does look bad against the mexicano because they are just tough and strong in their own rights. Trade when required and go to GUERA!

Yeah, everyone wants fighters to take risks, but when they do and lose they suddenly aren't worth anything.

Kovalev was badly hurt and almost KO'd by a prospect. His punch resistance was gone and he was basically shot. Coming into the Clenelo fight, Kovalev was 4-3 w/ 2 KO losses in his last 7 fights.

Jacobs had a razor close fight w/ Deveryanchenko.

Smith took a mauling from Ryder and received a massive gift.

Plant looked like garbage against a shot and old Truax.

Saunders has looked like ass since the Lemieux fight.
