What is it about this match up that has fans of both sides so deeply entrenched in their respective favourite's nut sack

2 best fighters in the weight range and they've had 2 decent fights already just enjoy the show if (hopefully) it happens

A top fighter not taking opportunities to fight other top fighter is not pointless, it's the actual POINT of this sport.

So why didnt Canelo fight GGG when ordered to by the WBC ?? Why did he act like a prissy little girl & meekly hand the title back instead of being a man & defending it? Because he knew he wasnt the real champion, the real champion has balls .
I'll ask again Name me one Canelo fight in Vegas that was 100% on the level fair fight, without judging bias, illegal advantages overlooked ped's abuse etc?? You wont find one & you know it

 

Why didn't Golovkin fight Derevyanchenko when ordered by the IBF?

 

Can't GGG beat another top middleweight or maybe move up to super middleweight, take a tune up, take on Benavidez in a top quality contest and then PRESSURE Canelo to take the trilogy fight?

Whatever you might think of their previous contests, and I think they're 1-1 as of now, one man has moved on with his career, took on new challenges and has established himself as the face of boxing essentially, whereas the other guy... valiantly beat Steve Rolls, went life and death with Derevyanchenko and fought Kamil Szeremeta... because what, unify the belts? How long has that bullsh it been going on for? Can you just imagine if Floyd, Pacquiao, Oscar, Mosley, Hopkins etc. went on that little run of mediocrity in the prime of their careers, and the sheer amount of sh it they would have had for that? This is the level that GGG fans think he's at, so let's hold him to the same standards.

Golovkin still has a few years left, he's still a very good/excellent fighter and he could, if he really went for it 'Mexican style' make his mark in the next few years but if he keeps pulling this crap then he'll just be remembered as a belt holder who was unlucky in the first fight with Canelo. In 20 years time that's all he'll be remembered for. Maybe the Jacobs win too will have a bit of value. Nobody will give a fu ck that he knocked out Lemieux, Geale, Macklin, Murray, Rubio, dragged up Brook from 147...

I want to see him fully focused and have him smash somebody good in the next 6 months and then call out Canelo, rather than beg for a fight. He has it in him but for whatever reason his career to date has been disappointing.

Canelo or Golovkin ?? I'd lay odds GGG wins hands down..
GGG is respected as a FIGHTER !! Has never failed a test, has never had the commission & Vegas officials in his pocket to ensure he does not lose a decision REGARDLESS!!
Canelo... ?? Do I really have to try to find anything good about him

 

personally I’m a fan of Canelo but no matter how big a fan I am I don’t support bum fights, and it seem Canelo fans are the only ones who actually want good fights.

dude let’s be real any fighter can fight anybody if they really want to, the issue is who Lopez said after his fight these guys win a vacant belt don’t even beat a top contender and think they money Mayweather when Mayweather had to beat a slew of champs as pretty boy to even get to that point..
If GGG was willing to make a consensus on he could have had plenty of fights could have fought any top contender a year ago and opted to wait until he got the chance to fight for a vacant belt instead of an actual champ.
Ggg could fight Andrade or Charlo or at least make any type of attempt but all 3 are content to duck each other because idiot fans will say they want to fight Canelo so they should t have to fight anybody else

 

On the one hand, it would be comforting to live in your binary, black and white world in which 'good' opinions (my own) are correct whereas 'bad' opinions (yours) are wrong... This is why you'd like to reduce this to 'who do you like more?'

However, I just can't stoop to embracing that kind of dogma. Life, and sport for that matter, is far more nuanced than that. I'm sure there are people out there who think Canelo is a bellend, but a great figher. It's not a popularity contest.

You're going to have to do better. I don't have any skin in the game: I'm English. Golovkin needs to take on bigger challenges to be great. Argue the point - don't turn it into an TV talent show style popularity contest.

OK run a poll of boxing people, fighters,trainers managers reporters even asking the same question. They'd pick Golovkin hands down.
Sure no arguing Canelo can fight he's a good boxer BUT How good would he appear if he hadnt had the advantage of being Vegas cash cow. He makes them $$$$$. Little teenage girls swoon over him etc.
In all fairness the majority of boxing experts voted that GGG beat Canelo TWICE but got "Vegas decisions". Canelo's a proven ped's abuser. Remember the Clenbuterol ?? He's normal body shape one day, next time you see him he's like a miniture incredible hulk. No way he could do that legally. Up & down in weight like a yo yo lol Plus why wont Canelo entertain a GGG III fight anywhere but Vegas !! ???
While GGG has been a 160 Middleweight his whole pro career, has no dark clouds over his head re Ped's abuse or very suspect judging. The sad part about this is maybe one day in later life Canelo could suffer severe health problems from the suspected Ped's use

But no one has a better claim to a 3rd fight with Canelo. Popular opinion said he beat Canelo both times but Canelo got "Vegas decisions" he did not deserve. All GGG asked for was a 100% fair fight in MSG Ny The Mecca of Boxing, well away from the corruption in Vegas. Canelo refused.
Why??? He knows himself he never really beat GGG & is afraid he cannot really beat GGG without the blatantly obvious Vegas influence backing him.
I share his fear I dont think he can either
