I think Ali clearly lost the Shavers fight. Quite a few say Ali was not the same after the that one (Just your Argument reverse).

No... Not really. If you think Ali clearly lost the Shavers fight (something Shavers himself disagrees with, by the way) there is absolutely no contradiction with believing Ali took lasting damage in the fight. Those that believe that Ali won the fight all think it was a very close fight. Never once have I seen anyone be called dead wrong for saying Shavers won it. Fights that are very gruelling and hard fought are often acknowledged as could have gone either way. Ah, good subject for a thread by the way.
Muhammad certainly took a battering in his fight with 'The Acorn' But I still score it as an Ali win. By about two rounds.
